Actually it means a patent has been applied for and fraudulent use of this term is illegal. Now action can’t be taken until the patent is granted but imagine getting ready to sell something after having made an investment only to learn the patent has been approved. That adds even more risk to...
The bracket in question isn’t hard to make but the words “patent pending” may scare those willing to produce a cheaper or better quality part from doing so. Patents aren’t cheap, perhaps that is part of the added expense. With that said, I know nothing about the particulars of how this part is...
Although looking at it I don’t know how it would be possible for a mouse to get in a closed door, I once heard a rattle in my door. Turns out it was dog food stuck between the trim and door near the bottom? The car had recently been to the dealer for service so the two possibilities were:
1...
Steve is a great guy, one of the great people in the club who helped me land in a Viper, I'm lucky to live within a few miles of him. The people make the club worth being a part of!
The only thing I have to say about the Gen IV Vipers is that the build numbers are low and they are the last of the “Dodge” Viper, last of the cars without traction control, etc. Also, most color combinations are just as rare as any special edition. In addition, they only made a coupe of this...
Roland,
Thanks for taking the time to do a review. Glad to have one of my parts over in Belgium! Hope to see more pictures if you figure out how to upload them. Some of your car would be great too!
As you said, there is instruction to do a test fit on the panel first before tightening...
I would tend to agree with you but to each his own, the workmanship looks good. It doesn’t help that the front of the Gen V is probably the only thing I don’t like about the design.
I have been watching in anticipation of the spoiler though (hopefully a non-intrusive installation if possible).
Re: Glad they are going to limit the amount Corvettes & Mustangs at Cars & Coffee Irv
I guess our Cars and Coffee is late in Indy... starts ~10AM compared to 6:30?
Brent,
Thanks for the additional information and feedback. The OEM seal can become an issue if:
1- The lid is not tightened correctly (if it is too tight or loose which is hard to determine because of the design bend in the panel)
2- The foam becomes permanently compressed, which on my ‘08...
I don't think this is an SRT only issue, GM had the same sort of delays with the Camaro ZL1. Long story short I own a Viper now.
But I think to be one of the first to own a brand new build of a car you have to expect delays / teething issues of some sort. Just my $.02
Thanks, Brent. Glad it fit well and installed easily for you! They all seem have seem to fit very well so far, glad to hear another confirmation of that.
For anyone considering getting one of these I have special Father’s day pricing:
$175 quick release panel
$225 quick release panel with...

Alcoa began supplying one-piece forged aluminum SRT wheels on the Dodge Viper SRT10 in 2002. The company has supplied wheels for all SRT8 fitments, including Chrysler 300C, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, Dodge Magnum and Jeep...
Bingo!
Indycar teams use nitrogen in the tires but use a vacuum pump system to purge the tires of air and moisture (several times in a row) before filling with dry nitrogen. Indycar tires also see a much wider temp range than a street car so this is more important for consistency.
Not sure...
Good information. So do these wheels have the same properties as a forged wheel when it comes to heat treating? I know many have powder coated their OEM wheels - is heat cycling a concern or not since it is not really a forged wheel?
To Quote Nine Ball in this thread:

The factory wheels have cast aluminum spokes and rotary forged barrels...
Does anyone know the actual alloy used for the wheels? Is the alloy...
Yep, agree with the book / cover statement! 2 Hybrids here as daily drivers. Not a typical garage combination and it surprises some but that's the way I like it.
Perhaps the original sensors are still stored in the system? Related information:

FYI Photos of McGard Spline Drive lug nuts vs. OEM. Tool picture included vs. a typical (not any specific size) socket.
Notes:
-The part that spins freely is separate from the rest of the lug nut.
-No concern on the tool strength for hand use; unsure about impact wrench use
Yes the bases spin independently of the nut. I have literally had 2 minutes to look them over but they seemed to be a very solid construction. They look nicer than the pictures on the web. I can take photos tonight if you are interested but it sounds like you might go another direction anyway. I...
