Great work ArnarFB! So far this is my favorite and wonder what it would look like in Silver instead of Red. Silver/Black is my favorite color combo although Yellow/Black is a close second!
Of all the great versions you came up with this one is the most elegantly understated (this is my...
Holy $h!t Chuck, this was close; I almost gave a f@ck!
You drive around in a 15 year old “Classic”. You seem to despise modern technology in a Viper and in all likelihood have already decided you will never own a Gen V. I am fine with that Chuck, to each their own!
Now let me tell...
I really do not understand this Neanderthal type obsession with early 20th Century technology.
As Ralph Gilles said with a smile about cruise control during the reveal: Get over yourselves!
I can already hear the "Purists" rant about a power convertible top as if power seats, cruise control, the prospect of a proper dual clutch transmission, "Nannies" and other assorted Gen V goodies aren't given them a panic attack now...:omg:
As Ralph Gilles said with a smile during the reveal...
Most likely mimicking Ferrari aerodynamics.
The front reminds me a bit of the F50, not a bad thing in my book.
I wonder what the downforce is on this new body; it seems to me they devoted special attention to aerodynamics, a real Ferrari specialty developed in their own wind tunnel over...
Congratulations on getting this Beast and Good Luck David!
Your car looks awesome (fantastic wrap!) and I can't wait to see it in the 2012 Viper Cup. With your experience you will bring additional excitement to the series!
Since it was a Zakspeed Viper, quite possibly a GTS-R although I asked myself the same question after seeing license plates on it; on the other hand, why would a well known racing team like Zakspeed not own a GTS-R?
I don't know enough about GTS-R's (or Gen 2's) to give a definitive answer.
He claims to have 1600 Viper Nürburgring laps under his belt and as I know from personal experience, it rains quite often there...so plenty of practice in any weather.
Thank you Vancouver-GTS, some nice footage there; a near wipe-out, awesome close-up of the Karussell and some great passes!
Love the sound too, V10 block but only running with eight cylinders; so yes, V8 sound!
Sorry in case this video is a repost but I think this is really cool:

The first 30 seconds are a...
Treesnake, you are absolutely correct about Ralph's dedication, enthusiasm and persistence when it comes to the Viper's future!
How about naming the new logo after Ralph's alter ego from the VIR ACR-X Viper Cup inaugural race earlier this year: COREY (Vetzsuk)?
For a flashback (see picture in...
Kala,
It has been a while indeed!
Let's compare apples to apples and not to oranges.
The ACR is a pure track beast with terrific downforce thru external add-ons. As always, additional drag will have a huge impact on top speed. On a 2008/9 ACR's once you upshift to 5th an step on it again...
This is where the Fiat/Ferrari partnership should indeed bear productive results! To answer your question Kala, yes absolutely but I guess your idea of aero is wings, spoilers and canards.
Ferrari has its own wind tunnel on-site (mostly for F1 development) and Ferrari has for a long time...
Question to the lucky ones who saw it: is it an evolution of the Gen 3 & 4 design language, a Gen 2 retrospective or a bold step forward, a true design reach?
Seems to me the picture of the proposed "2012 Viper" is a photoshop version of the Alfa Romeo 8C Coupe.
Ferrari inspired headlights and Viper inspired hood is what I see.
If this is the real thing, then I would have to assume "Shared Platform", something that was mentioned in the past a...
"Our" guy, Tom Coronel who set the previous record in 2008 driving an ACR at the Nuerburgring is racing this weekend at 24 hour race in Le Mans.
He is driving a Spyker C8 and is presently in 47th position.
At this time, Peugeot is leading (1-2-3) followed by Audi (4-5-7-10-13) and Lola Aston...
