Report says driver missed gear in second to third gear upshift, went into first instead, locked rear wheels, sending the Viper into a spin.
The out of control Viper also collided with a VW Golf who was not a t fault in any way.
Drivers license was taken away from the Viper driver at the scene...
Driving a Viper reverses the aging process! :)
The more and faster you drive it, the younger you will feel! :D
So who cares, age is just a number...I stopped counting twenty years ago!
It is out there and it is called Nürburgring, Chuck!
Too bad we are an Ocean away.
Could not agree more that nothing is more fun at the wheel than tracking in a Viper.
The track is the natural habitat for it.
Of course out here we have our own favorites such as the Mulholland Highway...
Not necessarily!
The impact sensor activating the airbags is attached to the frame and requires a high G-force to activate.
If the damage is to the body only and the frame did not undergo crash-like deceleration, the airbags will not deploy.

Perfect candidate for a Street Serpent conversion.
Street Serpent Aero-Body
Assuming there is no frame damage, of course.
I will look better than new! Way better!

More about the designer of the Devon Concept Car here:
Paulin
Click on "VR Concept", there is an image gallery and six 3D animations.
For some reason, a see many design elements form the Panoz GTR in this concept.
Wondering if there is a connection between Panoz and Devon?

Some great observations here folks. a few comments from personal experience:
It may not require bolting to the floor but I sure would not ever want to stand under a car on a lift that is not securely bolted to the floor. But then I also live in Kahleefohnia where the ground occasionnally shakes...
End of Viper...under Chrysler/Dodge/Cerberus ownership.
From the second article mentioned above:
"The Conner Avenue plant in Detroit, where 115 workers make the niche Viper muscle car, will not stay with the company after bankruptcy, according to the filing. But Chrysler had already said...
Yep!
And their justification for doing so will be:
"You cannot have so much power in the hands of so few, it is just too dangerous and furthermore it's unfair!"
Can horsepower be redistributed too?
Phil
Absolutely stunning!
The Jeff Lemke top looks fantastic in this color and imparts the car a pleasantly upscale look.
But why did you not upgrade to a Gen IV hood?
It would look even better and run cooler as well.

You are most welcome Kala!
The transmission hardware already exists and is used on the Aston Martin Vanquish and possibly other AM models.
The challenges will be:
Deciding on steering column mounted paddles or steering wheel mounted paddles. With the first version the paddles will always...
Kala,
Great work on your part! I will assist you in making this work and will also let Dan Cragin (DC Performance) know that I will participate in the development, testing and fine tuning of this exciting upgrade.
I understand the “purist’s” point of view but this should in no way discourage...
Bruce, I would give Mark J. a call at Woodhouse.
He is quite the expert on these issues and speaks from experience.
He also has a lot of alignment settings data and specs for special installations like the one you describe.

In 1998, Chrysler showed a concept car called the "Chronos" which had a V-10 engine (not a Viper unit).
Due to the corporate mindset of Daimler Chrysler at the time, luxury and prestige cars had to stay within the Mercedes-Benz brand.
It could have been an awesome "Four Door Viper" but never...
Great Police Car for the upcoming Obama Police State...
Nobody will outrun it!
Oops, maybe this should be in the Politics 101 thread...right BM?
Great work Austin, but can you add the red and blue lights?
