Thanks for the heads up. I've seen lots of Gen 2's at or just under $30K but most have more milage than I want or they don't know the history of the car. I don't wamt to get anything with mileage that is to high.
Thanks again!
Thanks for those who have responded.
Also, if the right car came along had stripes, I wouldn't rule it out, although I prefer a stripeless car.
Thanks!
This thread is really relevant for me right now. I am currently looking for a Viper and have been leaning strongly towards the Gen 3 due to some of the features it has over the Gen 2. However, last night on my way home I ran into a Gen 3 (the first Viper I have seen on the road in probably 4-5...
I agree. I was a die hard RT-10 guy forever. I din't even care much for the GTS. However, in the past few years the GTS has REALLY grown on me and IMO is one of the best cars out there. I like the looks better now than I ever have.
I'm not looking to buy a Viper under $30K. I just said ideally I would find something in the low $30K's ($32-$33K) and if its the right car for me I would consider going higher from there! That isn't my limit. :2tu:
Hi all. Well, this has been a long time coming for me. I have owned one Viper in the past (a 93 RT-10) but sold it about 5 years ago. Since then I bought a nice Factory Five Shelby Cobra but I sold it last summer because I knew I wanted another Viper. I have been a Viper lover since I saw my...
That is what the wife would prefer, but price is a concern of mine as well. I have my eye on one Gen 3 in particular but I'm waiting 4-6 weeks to pull the trigger on something, and who knows if it will still be available.
Whatever I end up buying will likely remain relatively unchanged after I buy it (I may do a few things such as intake/exhaust/tune over time) but part of the deal (yes, I had to make a deal with the wife to get the green light on getting a viper) was to find a car that I like and to leave it...
I appreciate the reply's, your info is just what I was looking for.
Hopefully if I end up with a Gen 2 can find a good car with some mods already on it. Thanks again!

I'm just talking about straight line performance. Basically, if each car had a driver that was the exact same skill level, on a quarter mile track, what mods would be needed on the Gen 2 to run with a Gen 3.
Would smooth tubes, filters, headers, and exhaust be enough?
I've been doing a ton of research lately trying to decide what year/model Viper I want to get. Obviously performance is a large factor for me, and I'm curious to know how much faster a Gen 3 is over a Gen 2. I know there is a 55 hp difference from a Gen 2 to a Gen 3, and I am curious to know...
The more I think about it as of right now he has stolen YOUR car. You have paid for it in full, have a bill of sale in your name, therefore it is your car. I would call it in stolen and have the cops pay him a visit.
I could be wrong, but I think this could work.
