Sales are only going to get worse for the Viper in my opinion. Not being able to mod the Gen V is the only reason I am still driving my Blown Gen III instead of a new Gen V. If the Gen V was able to be modified it would open it up to a whole new market of potential buyers. I personally refuse to...
Has anyone ever simply asked Ralph directly about whether or not we will see a forced induction kit available for the Gen V or at least the tuning information released so that the aftermarket can provide one? He seems like a guy that would give you a straight up answer.
I could not agree more. This is why I am hoping SRT has had plans all along to release the code at some point. If not why would they even bother with forged internals?
I personally refuse to buy a Gen V until the information is released to the aftermarket so that forced induction can be added to these cars. The day this information is released, SRT you will have my order. The Gen V would appeal to a much larger group if you were able to mod and tune the cars...
I currently own 3 Lightning's and a Paxton 06 Coupe. With my 950hp Lightning on the street, I feel 100% in control of it. My Viper is totally different. Feels like it is right on the edge and any small mistake on my part equals trouble. Takes a little while to get used to driving the Viper...
I could not agree with you more! I think SRT at some point will provide a way to tune these cars so they can be modified. If not then what would be the purpose of the forged internals?
I am too disappointed that SRT only added 40hp to the new Viper. However, SRT did give us the perfect platform for a boosted application by using forged components in the new engine. All SRT has to do now is release or make available to the aftermarket the ability to tune these cars. Once that...
This time next year there will be plenty of cars sitting at dealers available for below msrp. Why anyone would pay over MSRP for any car is beyond me....
I just noticed that as well that Procharger is now shipping kits for the new Challengers and Ram trucks. Since they were able to crack the tuning code on these hopefully the new Viper will come along as well.

Mark, in your opinion do you think Mopar will release a supercharger kit for the Gen V Viper at some point or release the code so that the aftermarket can supply one? If so what is your guess at a time frame?
Most of the guys that I know who want the new Viper want to tinker with them. SRT has...

Allpar reader “kdaviper” wrote, “A fifth-generation Viper engine was spotted at Arrow Racing, with a Paxton-style supercharger strapped to it. This could mean that SRT is planning on supercharging the Viper V-10 for production, or that Mopar is developing a bolt-on supercharger...
Even if it isn't a factory option, I hope SRT makes available a forced induction option through Mopar performance or at least releases the info needed to allow the aftermarket to offer a forced induction package. The day this happens Mark Jorgensen, you will have my order for my 2nd Viper.
I wonder how long it will be before the aftermarket will have a supercharger or twin turbo kit available for the Gen V? The factory forged motor would make a great platform for a boosted application. I have not yet ordered a Gen V, but the day that a supercharger or twin turbo kit is available...
A 3.33 or 3.55 gear would have made a night and day difference in your stock motor/paxton setup. The factory 3.07 gear just is too high of a gear for that setup and doesn't keep the rpm's up where the Paxton really shines.
The key will be in how long it will take the aftermarket to figure out the ECU on these cars. It would be a waste to finally have a forged motor from the factory and not be able to add a power adder due to the ECU.
