Nice writeup Tony,
How does it like the twisties? Does it handle better than the earlier gens?
Did you "test" the traction/stability control?
Does it recover nicely while allowing some sideways slip?
Would you ever want to turn it totally off other than if drifting?
Its probably part of their development process. Exhaust first, then intake etc.
I think its good they are posting the results. As mentioned above it means the OEM exhaust is pretty good.
I for one am looking forward to any additional video's to see what heads, intake porting, ecu etc add on top...
Only way to get more air in is via heads or cam IMO.
Exhaust didnt do much. Though 5% isnt to be sneezed at.
Manifold vac will show if there is an intake restriction. Otherwise more cam, or better heads/valves/ports required.
Of course AFR will show if there is any room in the tune too. But...
A tad over 5% gain.
Would be interested to see AFR and manifold vacuum at WOT.
Just goes to show how much they rung out of the old engine with a few minor mods.
Might be best with just a head port..!
A C7 Z06 with a Cam, Headers and an EFILive tune will cause a lot of tears for SRT. Hell maybe even the base C7 will frighten them.
Fun times. Apparently the first C7's hit the floors in August.
NineBall: Im looking forward to your SRT 2013 road trip review. When are you posting it up :)
Yeah it wasnt GM it was EFILive that did the work.
Im a disty of theirs. I know how hard the guys work. They have contacts and probably got their hands on ECU's the fact that they were Delphi controllers helped as they have well over a decade of experience adding support for Delphi controllers...
They probably have a large back order, so stopped taking any more 13's to clear them out in time for Sept when the 14's will start up... they probably won't accept 14 orders for a while. Mind you if everyone starts cancelling they will have to..
Hennessey have their 700R mods. Supposedly 725/695 with "high flow heads" whatever that means, ECU upgrade and exhaust.
Should be interesting to see how the mod results go. Those are good gains if they are valid.
+1
I got all excited thinking about a new Gen5 cam and tune.
Now Ill go back to looking at what GM's C7 Z06 will be like and whether their new C7 E92 ECU is tunable.
They are showing up for sale already.
But you are right, they should be the most "cost effective" purchase. Later models will get updates and changes as the model matures. These are the raw first releases.
Probably doesn't make any difference, but they will get thrashed and beaten on. All fine...
Re: Dyno Results progressive- Gen 4- stock, Random high flows, full Belanger, + Mopar
So roughly 10% more power from the basic mods. Headers look like the best gains.
