    In '09 there were changes to the PCM. Ex: Reprogram of the throttle by wire and other changes that make it much more difficult and expensive to add a skip shift eliminator

    Re: Confused Newbie deciding between 2001 GTS ACR and 1996 GTS ...Man this is tough!! Normally I would cast a vote for the ACR but would have reservations if the owner removed the stripes. That means a repaint of the car. That would cost a lot or be a poor job.

    I have an '06 VOI 9 car. When cleaning the wheels I noticed that 3 of them were clearcoated and 1 was not (polished to a shine much brighter than the coated ones). I am curious as to why 1 is not clearcoat. Perhaps a wheel had damaged clearcoat and was repaired without the clearcoat or a wheel...

    I have sold Vipers twice because of financial reasons. Both times the crunch turned out not as bad as anticipated and both times I REALLY regretted selling the Vipers. Wish I had either car back. I loved those cars.

    Which Viper to buy?

    I've owned 2 gen 2 coupes (ACR and FE/Daytona24), a gen 3 coupe (VOI 9), and a gen 4 (09). The gen 4 was by far the best car. I sold it back in October for $65k w only 3k miles. Deals are out there.

    Gen 4 hood on '06 VOI 9. Hood is painted first and then the stripes painted on for the ridge effect.

    I don't believe the grills are that obstructive. I put the grills in because without made the hood look unfinished and cheaper in my opinion.

    Painted stripes usually are wider towards the middle to give an optical illusion of being even.
