Re: 95\' RT/10 almost ate it at 135 MPH
Do you have the stock tires? I've noticed a huge difference in high speed handling when using different tires. I think the car handles very well. I had a 911 and I would say that once you learn how to drive both (they are very different) that the Viper...
Frank,
I just wanted to say I'm on your side whenever you point out that the Viper engine is still just an engine and everyone gets a little anal about it when repairing. Maybe its the extra two cylinders that does it?! Stick to your guns!
Jon B/ Eldiablo,
Jon, if you recall I was asking...
I got some track tires for mine and I live in Vancouver, Canada. The difference between your climate and mine is probably just temperature. On top of wet, we have cool. But it is pretty tough with those tires. Obviously there are rain race tires but that's probably not what you want.
I have...
You tend to agree with me because you're Aussie and I'm Canadian! There is some strange Imperial lineage that makes us logical thinkers!
Anyway, there is nothing rude about getting it inspected. I would have it inspected even if it was my best friend selling it to me. It's not about what the...
I would definitely buy a car that had those few miles. I bought my '94 with 9000 miles on it and it is doing great. Think about all the things that didn't get any wear and tear before you write off the car for not having been used much. That car isn't even completely broken in. Basically...
ab,
The cracks are most obvious on a black car I think because of the contract between the filler (white) and the paint. They run across the car or horizontally. They are about an inch to two inches long and about as wide as a hair. They look like the paint just got pulled apart as if the...
The cracks were already starting when I bought the car and I've been closing the hood the correct way since I got the car. I think the problem is the filler shrinkage issue. I even talked to one guy that said his cracked while the car was stored without having the hood ever opened.
So that...
That thing is amazing. I've always been a fan of electric cars but these guys have really made an electric car that would be fun to drive. The explanation for how it does it is simple enough...
How can the tzero be so fast with 'only' 200 hp?
For a given power to weight ratio, electric...
I think the best quote is from the designer's themselves...
"Chief Engineer Dave Hill told us that he wasn't interested in a horsepower race with Viper. He said that the Vette team is more interested in 'balanced performance' for its customers." So is Hyundai.
Is that "wasn't interested in a...
Cold tires can be bad especially if they are newer tires or sat for a long time. When I first put on some new tires I thought I had made a huge mistake with them because the were like running on ice. Or is it possible that you got a little oil on the tires. If you did an oil change, on mine...
OK, the hood cracks on my 94 RT are starting to get bad enough that I should do something about them. I don't suppose there is anything Dodge will do about it is there? I don't have an extended warranty or anything.
Is there a preferred way to deal with this. Will a common body shop destroy...
I feel for ya! That's unbelievable. I would think it is going to be pretty hard for him to hide the amount of damage that must have happened to his car. If the cops don't do it, I would go to every body work place around the area and give them your number to call you if they get a car in that...
There are other tall drivers. I'm not that tall at 6'2" but I'm comfortable. I've heard others at 6'4" or taller. Some have bought a seat lowering kit I think that gives you the extra clearance you need. You should be OK. I think Shaq shouldn't get one though.

I was parallel parking and the curb had a broken piece sticking out. It really scarred my wheel probably an 1/8 of inch deep. Would sanding it out and polish work on that you think?
Tom, you know I will be your first customer! I'll need all the help I can get for my grudge match against that miserable Camaro...he's running 750 HP this year!
I think you have my credit card info. and address right?
I'll ask Don to post his cook book instructions. They were really helpful and he added my comments for the earlier model year car differences.
I like that idea of hooking up the parking lights to flash, I might do that too. I'd probably do it on both the setting of the security system on, and...
Thanks to Don Ruckman from WA for the tons of advice on how to do this. I would recommend anyone with a GEN I that doesn't have door handles do this installation. It is great, I just click on the unlock door button on my fob and the door magically opens for me, click on the trunk button and...
2tall, if you are at a standstill, rev the engine to 3000 rpm and drop the clutch and your car bogs down...it has a problem. It depends on your tires but with the stock tires you should be able to launch at around 2300 rpm or so and still have a little tire spin. With softer/stickier tires you...
Vip RT/10,
Gas pumps in North America usually say on them "adjusted to X degrees" or something like that. They take into account the temperature and adjust for the density.
Mine also makes a fair amount of noise. But it hasn't failed and the car always starts on the first shot. It's whined for about a year (since I got the car) so I've never known anything else but a whiny one. I think I'll wait to replace it when it fails if you have to take the tank off to do it.
The Valentine is great for the direction buttons and is very sensitive. Although I am a big fan of it I might agree with DavidF that the X band is too sensitive and results in a lot of false alarms. I'd rather pay for no false alarms and no direction arrows but I already have the Valentine...
I'm sure its the gasket, that's a common problem with the year. I had the same problem but Jon B suggested re-torquing the bolts first and so far that has fixed it for me. Keeping my fingers crossed. I suspect in a few more thousand miles I will have to change the gasket though. When I...
