Re: Ode to Viper - by Ralph Gilles
as a future viper owner I am extreamly happy to see the Viper continue. I hope many of you upgrade to the new ones so someone like me can purchase one of your old ones and cherish it like you did.
I will never be able to afford a new one but will be just...
why are you wanting a gen 1 over the others? curious on how you came up with your decision. I am a Viper Owner wannabe and have narrowed my choice down to gen 1 or gen 3. can't afford a newer one at this time.
My reason over the gen 2 is that I love the look of the side pipes.
Not an owner but a big Viper Fan. I thought I heard on the show that the Viper was faster to 100 in the 0-100-0 contest but the ZR1 out braked the Viper which to me was NOT a surprise since the ZR1 has the MEGA expensive brakes.
thanks for threads like this. I do read as much as I can. Was hoping to get a 1st gen in a year but would be willing to wait longer for a 4th gen. So is the 1st gen brakes worse than the 2nd gen? I would guess they are. I know the older models do not have all the upgrades as a newer generation...
wow, beautiful vipers. I wish the KC Viper members would drive theirs more often. I love the Vipers and only see about 10 vipers a year. Very sad for those of us who just want to see them on the road. Maybe they just live in a different part of town.
when I become a potential buyer I would not expect the seller to let me drive it. I would expect a ride and an inspection at my cost with the owner driving to the inspection point. too much money to fix a viper or any car in the same class if I the driver don't know what to expect behind the wheel.
as much as I want to own a Viper, I would not have one in San Fransisco. I grew up there and even back in the 70's, traffic is so bad that you would burn out clutches on a very regular basis. I had a 68 vette with a 4 speed and went through several clutches and brakes on the hills like Lumbard...
congrats and thanks for posting that you had waited 14 years. I am still waiting and was feeling bad that I don't have my dream car yet.
Enjoy your new treasure.
I hope my post wasn't taken wrong. I saw the humor in it the post. But it really sucks for the owner and those types of accidents can affect you much later. No disrespect intended.
Nope, I did not laugh, but if I was him I would have a new Viper from that person's insurance and please get checked out by a doctor. you may not feel anything for several days.
As a future owner, I hope to get a chance to meet him and others on this site. I have meet Bill P. at Woodhouse and he was awesome. This site is more than a bunch of Viper lovers and it shows.
nice kill. that would of been cool to catch on a video. I can't imagine that the Viper and ZR1 would be in the same place at the same time and be able to run.
Thats great! I have a Dodge Ram with Hemi and only get 16-17 mpg on the highway without towing anything. Now my truck is a 4x4 but it looks like it gets around the same as the SRT when it is hauling stuff.
interested in two posters. send me a price if you would please.
pictures are DSC07041 and DSC07049
Sorry I can't figure out how to post pictures.
they are the red/white stripe ACR in front of some propain or gas tanks and the 1995 viper black and red viper picture
I will do my best. I baby sit my grand daughter M-F from 4:30 until around 7:30 and work at Barnes & Nonle every Sunday so free time is extreamly limited. Everytime I think I can talk myself out of wanting a Viper I just get on this site and renew the want.
