    Prefilling Oil Filter

First off, take it as a personal attack, that says far more about you than I. It's not what it is. Second; Your statement that it's hydrodynamic at start up, is quite another thing than your "wicks the oil up into the bearing" idea. You still cannot seem to understand that what we're dealing...

    July 2010 Okanagan Cruise/Track Event

I've had a couple questions about the auto cross on the Sunday, and I thought I'd clarify it here; no helmets are required, the speeds you'll be at are quite low, you might get into second gear once in a lap.

    July 2010 Okanagan Cruise/Track Event

Good tip, Ted. Have yet to hear from either of those you mentioned if they're coming out or not. We do need to know for planning/reservations purposes etc., so if anyone out there is planning on joining us for a great weekend, and hasn't done so please take a moment to drop either Craig, Jim or...

    Prefilling Oil Filter

Thanks! You've managed to both embarrass yourself and support my previous statement. You may want to read the article that you're using to prop up your statement with, I can clearly see you haven't done so. We're talking about hydrostatic bearings here, not hydrodynamic. To quote...

    Prefilling Oil Filter

"wick" the oil up? could you get a little more technical with that? You're saying running the engine esentialy dry for that first few seconds while the oil presure comes up, bearings loaded while it runs at several hundred rpm is better than cranking it over on the starter to get the...

    GTS drag racing????

Good point, Ted. I did see that, but why not post the slip? If nothing else but to shut me up!:D While on the subject, is that a typical 60' for a zo6? Seems pretty pokey for a car with TC ? but the last thing I had down the 1320 did 60' times in the mid 1.20s.

    GTS drag racing????

Not if the z crossed the line first. Even if he ran a 12.0, he was probably dialed in for an 11.80 (?), if the vette was dialed for a 12.3 he would have left first by .5 sec. (stay with me now) The Viper has now got to make it past the vette without getting to the finnish in under 11.8...

What the heck did my car just do?

With what you've said about it not going into gear I'd guess clutch. Makes sense when you think about the "hesitation", probably just slipping under load. Cools down and it's OK again. Have you ever changed the stock clutch?

Timing cover gasket replacement write up

Not to flog a dead horse here, and not trying to be harsh, but... If every owner had the same privilages as a paying member, why would anyone pay to be a member?:D

    GTS drag racing????

Who said he won? Figures don't state the R/T or the "L/R first", don't think the OP has mentioned if he won that round, or if it was in elliminations or not.

    SRT-6 Caravan?

Exactly. Thank you. OK, what follows may sound a bit defensive, but it's obvious some of you think me a heritic for not praising the JSRT8.;) I well know that the Jeep SRT8 (which is still a Jeep) is awsome:2tu:, I see soccer mommies blowing through stop lights while putting on makeup and...

    Prefilling Oil Filter

Pre-fill. Cheap insurance. You could also turn the motor over without starting it after you change the filter, pull the fuel pump relay and crank it over for a few seconds. Anyone see any harm in this?

    SRT-6 Caravan?

It's bad enough DC tarnished the SRT brand with the Jeep, now you want a mini-van?! There is an SRT6 allready. And...if you take a Caravan Sport and rearange the letters in sport you could make it into an SRT easy enough.

    Cracks in the hood

+1, agreed. I know I'd rather orig. than some attempt at a fix. (aside: Wasn't there a video cassette that came with early cars about closing the hood? Someone ought to post that on utube, I'd like to see it just for the "factory video" value.)

A little over 4 weeks to go and the response has been very good! If you're having trouble getting a room at one of the two on the itinerary, let me know I can suggest a few others in the area.

First post - on the lookout for a silver Gen3

 Where have you been looking, specificaly? That would get you an ok GenII, but if you're serious about that GenIII in sliver, add 10 or maybe as much as 15K onto that range. Maybe a beat, high mile, many owner, storied '03, but probably not in silver, could be had for that, but I...

Not sure if you'd get those wheels over those brakes? Other than that it's ok, nothing to write home about, IMO.
