    Told ya...

Ha! Definitely no hillbillies here, but also no snobs here either. Just a former bodybuilder/fitness model from Jersey with a loud obnoxious Viper transplanted into a quiet country town in Westchester full of the country club crowd. You can take the guy out of Jersey, but you can't take the...

    Told ya...

You are too kind, really..... Construe/twist whatever you want, but I actually joke all the time that we are the "poor slobs" in town, and have no desire to change my ways to fit in. I'm definitely easy to pick out as the "Jersey guy" in town and don't apologize for it at all. Haha! And I...

While I agree that 99% of the public may not know that these sites exist, people who are considering a Viper purchase will usually do their full research prior to taking the plunge, much like I did, Bruce H did, and many others that I know as well. We all learned about the VCA and came here to...

fair price for 08 vett with 20k miles?

I wasn't suggesting that 20k miles is low miles. I was comparing the difference between what a low mileage 08' vs. a higher mileage 08' (with 20k miles on the clock) should go for. Mid $60's for low miles in great condition Lower $60's for about 20k miles on the clock. Pricing has been...

I agree with you SnakeBitten. This is just a car forum and we are all supposed to be adults here. It's painful to read the posts laden with personal attacks, ignorant comments, etc.....I get embarrassed for those posting in that way. Why can't we all just get along and enjoy our cars?

fair price for 08 vett with 20k miles?

Low mileage 08 would be mid $60's. I'm thinking low $60's (close to $60k) for a SSG with 20k miles. I assume its in great condition?

Nothing in my post was directed at you, nor at anyone else in particular for that matter. I don't really pay attention to who says what on here in particular, but I have noticed that a lot of people lately have been making bold statements that are largely opinion based and present them as if...

Why I’ve chosen the Gen V…a cross-shopper’s perspective

Great post Bruce! Couldn't have said it better myself. It's interesting to hear what lured a first time Viper owner to consider buying one over the obvious competitors. I too wonder why so many supposed Viper owners on this site are so eager to "eat their young" as you put it, but it has become...

    Told ya...

What other cars are in the 600 Club? For those of you who claim that the Viper is not a high end car or doesn't have enough performance or horsepower, this should be a nice learning experience. 1. SRT Viper 2. Ferrari 599/F12 3. Ferrari FF 4. A couple über high end and expensive Porsche...

    Told ya...

Funny, I don't know a single Viper owner that doesn't consider their car to be a high end car (except maybe for you?), because IT IS a high end car. And non-Viper owners who comment on the car always tend to think its worth a good amount more than it is. The only argument that you might have had...

Another vote for Die Hard Platinum batteries here. Sorry to see what happened to your window.

How will the Gen V perform as a collectible that retains value over time?

100% agreed. FGT is shooting up in value because it it one of the rarest and perhaps the most exotic and historically significant modern day cars built. The thing is a work of art on wheels and can draw a larger crowd of people than any Lamborghini or Ferrari. Plus they get rarer every week as...

    Told ya...

This is just painful to read at this point. It's like teenage boys arguing over who's "Schwartz" is slightly larger. At the end of the day, unless you are taking the car to a track and really competitively racing it regularly, who really gives a rats a$$. I'm sorry, but if you feel like you...

More Great SRT Insight from Ralph

How can my cited article state something quoted so totally opposite to the tune? All of the three articles have varying takes on the same quote. Sounds like something really screwy going on here. Point is, don't give too much credit to these articles because chances are most of what they report...

More Great SRT Insight from Ralph

Just look at the link on this thread started today on the Gen V forum as well. http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/669534-Ralph-quot-The-Viper-is-Selling-Just-Fine-Thanks-quot That's my source, which looks like the real one that is not twisted to read out of context. Seems that one or more of...

And one more thing....... When I joined the VCA a little over a year ago, I was so excited to be a part of the Viper community. I had been reading all the great posts on here and saw that there were so many helpful people and threads, with mostly everyone being very friendly and helpful. For...

More Great SRT Insight from Ralph

Either the OP misquoted the article and seems to have tweaked it to read the way they wanted it to read and sound worse or different to make their own point, or there was another story re-written somewhere that did the same thing that the OP quoted. This is the actual quote from the article...

As much as it pains me to say it, I agree with your statement about the paddle shifters adding tons of buyers in this price segment. Most buyers of comparably priced Supercars buy competitors with automatics with paddle shifters. Now I agree that the Viper is by far best driven with a manual...

Mediocre stats? The Gen V stats that you quoted above are hardly mediocre as they are Supercar stats that most cars costing nearly double can hardly touch. Sure the ZR1 or Z06 are all around the same ballpark give or take some, but I don't know any car guys that consider the Vette's stats...

    The Gen V doesn't suck!!!

Great post Bruce. I entirely agree. After seeing the Gen V in person before I even owned my Gen IV, I was smitten. It is the most beautiful car to behold in person, especially in the amazing and expensive red color that you never want to get a scratch on. It has every great feature that all...

    Show us your garage!

Some before and after shots of the same areas..... New house had a terribly disgusting garage filled with hundreds of spiders and piles of mouse feces in and around the existing cabinetry. I completely gutted the room and removed every single spider, re-painted the walls an appropriate color...

Who's had notes left on their Car?

Not the biggest fan of the 3.73. Kinda am thinking of going back to the stock gearing or closer to it. It's just too jumpy at lower speeds, and not as much fun to drive when just cruising around town. Not to mention I get about 10 mpg wi the 3.73, which is also a very in attractive part of it.
