replaced headlight 10amp fuses with 15amp fuses...any problems?

I installed HIDs a few months ago. The instructions actually specified use of a 20 amp fuse, so I installed one for each headlight. Haven't had any problems.

    Sports Car Market "Collectibility" POLL:

So all of us from the VCA are supposed to go vote? Presumably, we'll vote for the Viper--isn't that stacking the vote just a little? Not that I'm against shady politics--I live in Illinois after all... Looks like it's working, though--the ACR is now at 68%.

    Subwoofer GURU needed!

OK, I got the Kicker subwoofers today and put them in a little while ago (despite the freezing temps and my unheated garage...I couldn't wait). I installed one first, leaving the other factory sub in place to compare. Impressions: The Kickers are not appreciably louder, likely due to their...

    Tirerack Michelin $457 OUCH!!!

Right you are! From Wikipedia: "Even though B.F. Goodrich is still a popular brand name of tires, the Goodrich Corporation exited the tire business in 1988. The tire business and use of the name was sold to Michelin." The BFG tires under discussion here are still, however, $150 cheaper per...

    Tirerack Michelin $457 OUCH!!!

According to Tire Rack, the PS2s have a treadwear rating of 220, compared to the BFGs 300...in theory, the BFG's should wear better than the Michelins.

    Subwoofer GURU needed!

I ordered the Kickers online (found them for $70 each), and they're supposed to arrive tomorrow. I probably won't have time to install them this weekend, but I should be able to get them in the car early next week. I also ordered components for the doors, and am deciding on what amplifier and...

    HID headlight/LED parking install

Looks like the 6 LED would fit your high beams, the 4 LED your fogs. Personally, I would be wary of using these just because of the low light output of LEDs. Note the disclaimer in the auctions (in Engrish) "Note: Since LED has low lum, due to safety reason, absolutely prohibit on low beam."...

Not sure. I just ordered a pair of the Kickers and will install them as soon as I get them. If you're willing to wait, I can let you know how they sound when I get them in.

    Subwoofer GURU needed!

OK, I just measured the depth of the subwoofer enclosures on a GTS, and it looks like the JL will not fit these either (depth is just under 4" in the center, 3" at the top, over 5" at the bottom of the cutout). Also, the enclosures are not wide enough to enlarge the holes and install 8" subs...

    HID headlight/LED parking install

Sorry, don't have any experience with the LED fogs/highs. I replaced my fogs with HID H3 bulbs, ballast mounted inside the fascia with double-sided 3M tape. Installation was simple. I have read that LEDs are not as bright as equivalent incandescents, so I would check the light output before...

    HID headlight/LED parking install

The owner's manual is wrong on this one. The headlamps actually have 9005 lowbeams and 9011 highs (but 9005 fit). All the online fitment guides I've looked at (including Sylvania's) say the same as the manual. I haven't replaced my highs, but I may do that with 9005 HID in the spring, and...

    Subwoofer GURU needed!

Just did a quick online search and found two more subs that may fit: Lanzar VW64 and MB Quart PVI 164. Not sure about mounting depth, and the peak power ratings vary widely (600w for the Lanzar vs. 140w for the MB Quart). Both the Kicker and JL are rated at 300w peak/150w RMS.

    7" Center Speaker Replacement

It's my understanding that in the Gen III (just like the RT/10) the center subwoofer is 6 1/2". Currently, there are four subwoofers available that will fit, the Kicker 08CVT654, JL Audio 6w3v3-4, Lanzar VW64, and MB Quart PVI 164. There may be depth issues with the JL, though...

    Subwoofer GURU needed!

In that case, I think the Kicker will be your best bet for direct-fit, as it is only 3" deep. For us GTS guys I'm not sure, but I think there may be more depth in the factory enclosures. Since I have my subs removed already, I'll measure the holes tomorrow and post here.

    Subwoofer GURU needed!

Kicker makes the only other 6.5" sub I've been able to find--the 08CVT654. What was the matter with the JL sub? Mounting depth, or bolt hole diameter? I've been thinking about a pair of these for my GTS, but if they won't fit...

Are those speakers direct fit? Or did you have to modify the openings? I'm currently looking at my options for upgrading the audio system in my GTS (which I understand uses the same size door speakers as the SRT).
