What is the true top speed of a Viper???
I've been a passenger in a 99RT/10 with the top off at about 175 (not trying for top speed), and with the top on at 180 (not trying for top speed). And been in a 97 GTS at 180 and a 96GTS accelerating HARD through 175 with another 96 next to us Tom- Tom86ZT

198 mph in the standing mile?
A Supra guy around here, Marco, Drag races in the NHRA now. He said he was hitting about 192 in the standing mile. His car runs the quarter in mid to high 9's. How does one calculate standing mile MPH based on HP and weight?
I doubt that your stock viper hit 180 in a mile (although it will be pretty close). And as for going out and driving the car, thats not gonna be a problem for Paolo, TRUST ME!!! I happen to know that a basically modded viper will hit just under 180 in the standing mile (wonder who told me that). Who makes the best headers/exhaust system for 94-95 Vipers?
In addition to notching the headers you need a couple of washers on each bolt or shorter bolts. The car definately pulled harder than before the change (TOOOFST's customer's car that is), and it sounds great. Tom- Tom86ZT

Viper Tuners/horsepower packages
As for Butch's car and TOOOFST's car I just happened to be at the track when each of them ran their posted times. Should I have lost against a Porsche Turbo?
