Best year for the GTS???
I read that Chrysler was replacing some GTS motors under warranty years ago due to pourus engine BLOCK castings leading to leaks. I currently own a 1995 RT/10 in Emerald Green (50K miles). The car runs PERFECT and has been completely bullet proof. I live in the Northeast and a GTS would allow me an extended driving season. How low do you think they will go?
When I see 1995, 96, 97, 98 & 99 VIPERS for sale by the DOZENS with LESS than 20,000 miles on them... THAT'S A COLLECTOR CAR!!!!! People sure weren't driving them. Porsches of that vintage have MILES on them. I'd say the average 911 Porsche is NOT a collectable car. But VIPERS...- fdjake

How low do you think they will go?
I've been in the car business for almost 20 years. Patterns develope that are actually very easy to identify. Example....In 1988 - 1990 Jaguars E-types were selling for INSANE money, it was a bubble. I think that's a great point....The fact that prices ARE down and kids can buy these cars almost ENSURES more will be wrecked. Thus removing them from the market place in the future. 97GTS hit in on the head with the Cobra comparison. I know a guy who picked up a 1968 Shelby GT 500 in 1980...- fdjake

This is happening with every type of collector item. Case in point... 2 years ago vintage Gibson Les Paul's from the 1950's were SELLING for $500,000 each. And at that price you were LUCKY to get someone to part with the guitar. Now those same guitars have been CUT IN HALF price wise...- fdjake

Alarm Problem.
New batteries in fob for remote.....STILL DEAD. I noticed that I know have a constant buzzing sound whenever the drivers door is open (even with the key OUT??) Alarm Problem.

Idling at 400 rpm
I'm not misreading the tach. When the car is cold it idles at abput 800-900 rpm. Once warmed up it drops to 400. Pulled into a side street yesterday and the car stalled as I pushed in the clutch to down shift. started right back up, got home, sync'd the throttles, seemed to run good but...- fdjake

I'm missing the trim piece that attaches to the front of the roll bar. It's the same vinyl color as the uprights on the doors. I think the previous owner my have removed it to install the hard top and lost it. I need the complete assembly with the mounting hardware. Here's a link to a picture....- fdjake

New Viper Owner.....How warm is normal???
Just picked up a 1995 RT 10. 51K miles, temp runs just past the 190 degree mark while on the highway. Gets past the next higher mark around town. The radiator fans only seem to come on when I turn the ignition key to shut the car off. Let me be specific. The fans come on for a second while...- fdjake
