Hey Slow....
Yes, if you think about it what you are doing is decreasing rotational mass. My car got faster when I changed Rotors....I was 8 lbs per rotor lighter. It made a difference.
On down the line: I know Ben mentioned he saved 8 pounds per wheel over stock when he swithced. Also...
What is holding you back is the "relatively mild" term. In order to extract every bit of power from the car you need the right combination of mods - and to see over 550 at the wheels, you need to go closer to wild than mild. Just heads and cam won't do it. As our friend from Alabama...
To answer your questions - you will have a tough time getting 550 at the wheels with the mods you are describing - you will be close. I would guess 515 to 525. Selecting 11:1 compression will help a bit. There are a few more tricks that can add power to help you get to 550.
You will have...
Greg,
What jammer are you using?
JD - good tip about Doraville. I have learned to cruise through that trap at 55 no matter what kind of hurry I am in. Also, I got hit with a laser by Fulton county on GA 400 just south of the North Ridge. Luckily, I think I must have picked up some scatter...
Living in Atlanta, I also suggest the V1. That one investment has saved me literally thousands of dollars. I know some of you will think I am crazy but I regularly do sprints to 150 on the local Highways.
Drive it like you stole it Warren!
Regards,
Hey Tony - No flame toward you intended.
You are correct - GB3 is somewhat of an anomoly. I would be curious to see his area under the curve and what his RWTQ numbers are. Bottom line is that if you went 137 with your car, that is totally awesome. I think maybe you should get that thing down...
I am not here to call anyone a liar. But, you would need 700RWHP + to trap 137.
So, when somebody claims to have achieved that MPH, they must have 700 at the wheels. So.........I would not be comparing your MPH to anyone elses unless you also compare Dyno sheets.
For your power, 129 is not...
To my knowledge there is no specific install kit for the Viper.
The issues are 1. getting the pump out of the assembly - this is hard but not impossible. 2. installing the pump within the cocoon and having it stay stationary. The Walbrow is not a direct replacement. Both of those issues can...
What this pump will do is maintain 55lbs of pressure consistently. At least that is my experience. As you know, the stock pump is only good up to 600 + 0r - RWHP. So with this upgrade, you can maintain your volume as you increase horsepower and RPM.
I would like to add that the modification...
Is anyone else with heads and cam upgrades out there running a 200 shot and stock Champion plugs? I have not (yet) had any detonation problems.
I have a set of NGK's but I have been reluctant to change to them because 95% of my driving is on just plain ol motor.....
Any input?
Regards,
Well, if you have a GTS, you are alot better off. As for replacing the pump inside the cocoon, have fun! - It was not the easiest thing to do. Sorry I do not have more insight for you. I was there when it was done, but I did not do the work.
Regards,
Achilles - I am going to try to show up on Sunday! Maybe you can show me which Supra's I should be scared of.....
I promise to keep it under 800RWHP LOL.

Re: Who\'s going to the GA VCA Dyno day tomorrow?
I got the bottle filled out at Dyno Lab today. I may do a drive by just to say hello... From what I heard, it is mainly the Corvette guys going.
Last thing I want to do is hang around and watch the Z06 guys jump up and down in excitement...
Achilles99!
So who is the master of the singe that lives here in Atlanta? I always look for supras...they are usually good competition.
Anyway, hope you get a Viper - see you at the meetings!
Regards,
my 98 has almost 50k miles!!!! And 650 ponies on motor only!
Plus, I go through about a bottle a month of NOS. Close to 800RWHP on the gas.
Problems? NONE. Now I need to go knock on wood.
