Thanks guys. I was considering the takeoffs because of the $2,500 price, but I can get V2's from Jon for $3,200. What would be the difference between V2's and V3's with the V2 springrates? It seems like I would get the same basic thing but with more adjustability.
I have an 03 with bolt-ons (480rwhp and 506rwtq). I am happy with the suspension, but the track use it sees and the 32k on the odometer makes me think an upgrade would help the car and keep me safer. I am considering a switch to a set of ACR takeoffs and want to know what to expect. I know it...
Wow. I thought you guys were crazy but then i went and checked for myself...you guys are right. My Viper does have a stereo. I guess I just never noticed.
I like the idea of mixing the simplicity and proven dependability of the current pushrod single-cam setup, with the efficiency of direct injection. The car would make more power, run slightly cooler, and be more fuel efficient.
Dear Motor Trend,
The new Viper is going to totally suck. It's going to have the engine out of a 2003 Plymouth Breeze, weigh 4,800lbs, and look almost exactly like a Pontiac Aztec.

I was not one of the people who had a problem with the appearance. I only care about whether or not they will make my car safer at the track. I would like you to post a picture of what these will look like when shipped. That way I can see what hardware they come with and what kind of safety...
I am fielding a team in the 24 Hours of Lemons race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on 9/24-25. A couple of my teammates backed out and I am in dire need of some replacement drivers. I am new to the Viper community and think an all Viper owner team would be a good introduction into the community...
Thanks for the advice, but I want to keep the stock look. I was hoping that someone who made the switch would have a stock unit taking up space in their garage that I could buy off of them...any takers?
Bizump! Ok, so I guess this was either related to heat or a hasty stereo installation. Either way, can anyone help me out with the other two questions. Does anyone have a spare to spare, and does anyone know how I can track down some replacement bolts?
I have a bulge and two cracks in the center dash panel of my 03. The bulge is between the two bottom gauges and the cracks are at the top and bottom of the bulge. All this can kinda be seen in the following pics:
I am going to install some dynaliner under the center console to mitigate the...
I have the standard wheels on my 03 (5 spoke?). I would love to take those h-spokes off your hands but I would have to be a part of some kind of 3 team trade.
My cats were terrible (clogged, busted weld between upper and lower) and I never got a CEL.
Lundqvist, I'm not trying to be rude but you seem to not know much about cars. I would suggest that you take it to a very good shop or a dealer to have it looked at. DIY can cost you a lot more in...
Thanks. I'm still unsure of how your chromoly hoops attach to the car. I think you said they use the same brackets as the stock piece. Does this mean you ship them attached to these brackets already, or that I would have to remove the stock hoop from my brackets and replace it with the...
Yup. The engine bay is going to start cooling as soon as you shut the engine off. The reason you let the engine run a while after a hard track session is to start that cooling process off gradually. I tend to think it's best to continue that process in the most gradual manner possible. Or...
There are several threads on this, so a quick search will get you more detail. Here's the highlights:
Drain coolant
Undo hose running from thermostat housing to radiator
Remove 4 screws holding on housing
Pull housing off gently
Pop out thermostat
Replace gaskets if necessary
Put it all back...
There have been multiple studies conducted on this issue, the most recent being conducted by the Deutsche-Baeg Automotive Research Institute in Kassel Germany. While the study focused primarily on European automobiles, I believe it's findings are relative to this discussion.
The researchers...
We are on the same page. However, I do think a road course will let you on when they see that you have substantial modified roll hoops. If for no other reason than they will assume you have a roll bar.
I believe that the hoop could be stronger than the autoform when it comes to downward...
I agree. I track my 03 in stock configuration so this is obviously an upgrade. And the price of the autoform +shipping +install (seems a little much for DIY) is prohibitive. But I need more protection. Even though I drive with common sense and have never left a (dry) track with all 4 wheels...
