If your looking to put a tune on a 510 stroker....let me know.
While it's at your shop a soild roller lifter/cam and raise the rev limit to 7k would be nice.
Thanks to MTGTS for swinging buy and letting be use a few parts off his car for testing.
While we don't know the exact fix....it seems to work now. It started to work after we re-seated the PCM. I did that once before but it didn't work. We ohm'd out the wires and they are fine, I'm betting...
I will have some Carbon Fiber valve covers ready on Nov 1st. I have a proto-type now, but I want it to be perfect before showing it off and selling them. They will fit Gen I to Gen III
I got 26mpg once when I drove from Houston to Orlando in my 01 ACR.....granted I was drafting behind the moving truck. :D
I laughed at my wife who was in our 01 Kia Optima SE V6 at the time....I got better mpg than she did. But it was because she was stuck in 2nd gear due to the speed...
Steve,
I was going to put it on my GTS-R (can I call it that??? :dunno: )
But it's going to take me about 6mo to get to it. I've got bigger fish to fry at the moment.
Maybe I'll get Joe to tune the Split Sec for me... :rolaugh: :D :lmao:
bump
thanks to Mike 98/RT for the great deal on a set of Valve Covers and driver's side headlight....the check is in the mail.
But... I still need a passanger's side.
Sorry to hear about the trouble. It will all be sorted out in the end...it just takes time.
Steve, if you want to try my Split Sec...I'll send it to you. If you like it...keep it. Just send another one to me. Just give me a call if you want it.
My only issue I ever had with my Split...
While this is somewhat different...it's still the same.
On my ACR I had PS1 on the front and Kumho V700's on the rear. For drag racing...this was great! Even for mild street driving it was also fine. But when I would push the car into a corner....it just felt all goofy.
So as a temp...
My dad taught me the same way...but I was in '84 zuki SJ410 (pre-samuari) It had the huge 998cc motor :D I must have killed that thing about 500 times before getting it right.
What I found out is on a Gen II you have 1 temp sensor for the PCM, gauge and light. Because the gauge is working, I know the sensor is good. But is the connection at the PCM good, I don't know until I have time to mess with it this weekend.
I was thinking about doing that as a temp fix....but not really how I like to do things.
It's not the water pump. as you can see because the coolant temp will drop when the T-stat opens (at least until all the water gets heated up).
So I got this race car from Ringgold in trade for my ACR.
So far, I've haven't been able to drive it (other than once to go get gas and it started to over heat).
I started to trouble shoot it and this is what I found.
1.) NO WATER.
Filled it, burbed it.
2.) Cooling fans do...
