    For those who like the cigarette lighter / interior 12v plug style. The BMW tender is a good option. I believed it is actually made by Battery Tender, but of course it does cost a few $ more. This is what I use on all my vehicles and never a single problem.

    Maybe I was unclear with my original note. The key lock works fine when the the car has power. It however will not turn when my battery was dead. So, my question was should one be able to manually unlock the car with the key if the battery is dead.

    Just when out to the garage and try again. No go. I don't get it??? Anyhow, car is unlock with the little kid thru the trunk trick. But i am still curious on why it won't unlock with the key.

    OK, battery is dead, so I tried unlocking the car with the key thing under the driver mirror. But it doesn't work (won't turn more then 30 degree), am I missing something? :dunno:

    I got the opposite treatment, after a claim (totaled), American Collectors was not interested on quoting the Viper and also was not interested on my old classic truck (because a truck must be for work :dunno:). Anyhow, Got Grundy now with no problem and cheaper. And no, none are daily driver...

    I think you just answer your own question with the statement above. Personally, I enjoy having a convertible as a daily driver, but always prefer coupe for a sport car. ;)
