Gas mileage for Viper owners with heavy right foots?
I bought a 97 gts in Houston Tx and drove it back to California. I averaged about 20 mpg. Now that I'm back home I average about 15mpg. I wouldn't reccomend it as a commuter car. It isn't much fun in stop and go traffic as it has a fairly heavy clutch. In Phoenix where it gets hot it might be...- varanus

plugged cats and increase in hp?
Hi all. I'll soon be putting on a 3 inch corsa with Random tech cats on my 97 gts with 28,000 miles. QA couple of questions- 1. Just got my Corsa 3
Did you just do the cat back or did you change the cats too? I have the 3 inch Corsa and random tech cats coming from Jon B in about another week and a half. Got a great deal on the package from JonB. Did you install it yourself and if you did was it hard to do?- varanus

What is the market value for this 97 GTS?
Sounds reasonable to me. In this economy sometime better deals come up. I looked intensely (3 hours a night on this forum and others) for over 3 weeks and finally got one. Hey John B, you think that's ironic. I'm the guy that's on Serpentine Lane. Guess what I have for pets? SNAKES! no vipers, just a few boas and a python. Why no vipers? poisonous and I don't want to get bit. I only want my viper to put the bite on other cars! Hopefully the corsa and cats will help!- varanus

precision shifting
I just got a 97 gts a few weeks ago and have really been enjoying the car. I am finding that shifting is hard for me as I seem to miss gears. A few times on downshifting I''ve gone into the wrong gate eg 6th to 4th but really going from 6th to 2nd. For some reason out of all the manual shifts...- varanus

Well stripes seems to be the popular choice, but what color. I have seen silver on red, but recently saw white on red and it looked great. Whatdya think?- varanus

stripes or not?
I like the way the stripes look. On a red 99 gts would having stripes painted on the car devalue it in any way since they don't come off like bolt ons such as headers. I'm thinking the white stripes.- varanus

GTS Values
I have heard some say used GTS's will go up in price because of they will stop making them soon. Others have said they will go down due people getting new vipers and wanting to sell their old cars as well as uncertainties in the economy. warranties
I heard that a 7 year extended warranty can be transferred only once from the orginal buyer, so the 3rd buyer cannot have it transferred over to him. Is this true and if so, any way to get that warranty re applied by paying an extra fee or something?- varanus
