Re: H E E E L L P . . . .I\'m melting!
I will check on the resonator
we know number 10 plug fires as we have pulled the plug , changed the gap to a bigger gap and watched huge sparks jump the arc. At idle there is no pressure from the blower so it's not like it has a condensed atmosphere...
Re: H E E E L L P . . . .I\'m melting!
I thought about the vented side sill as someone else had posted about it a while back. My viper tech didn't seem to think it would be worth it as there wasn't enough airflow down there at idle sitting at lights or in traffic where the problem is it's...
Re: H E E E L L P . . . .I\'m melting!
thanks guys. I have the 180 thermostat, fluidyne radiator, and hi flo cats.
The af is definitely too rich-at idle at least. As I mentioned I have the roe sc. At idle the number 10 plug turns black very quickly (within minutes) and Sean told me to run the...
H E E E L L P . . . .I\'m melting!
Today I went out for a cruise to the beach in my 97 gts and the car interior was HOT! Temperature ranged from 70 to 80 degrees outside and it was sunny. With all the windows down it was tolerable the first half of the day. If I rolled the windows up and used...
If I reverse the sides, the rotors are identical so the slots will still be going opposite directions, So either way I will have 3 rotors with the slots on the rotor face going one way and one oddball going opposite of the rest. Looks kind of stupid.
if your car is running perfect, I wouldn't even worry about the manifold. As far as I know you just have to take off the blower system, take the manifold off and machine down the post so it is flat. Nothing else is supposed to be different.
BTW do you have cats? What number sc are you? I was...
I just got the stoptech rotors with the vanes and slots. On the front rotors the vanes are directional and the slots go the same direction. On the rear the vanes are non directional, but the slots go opposite directions on left and right side. Is this right?
In other words I have the 2 front...
The car pulls well with the sc. and impresses a lot of folks. But I have problems with # 10 cylinder as well. I have paid my viper tech to diagnosed wirtually everything with the motor and electrical and it is fine-took about 10 hours of labor to do so. Harnesses, coil packs, fuel injectors, and...
I don't think he would go beyond a 150 shot - even that is on the edge unless he has redone the motor to forged components. So unless he did that. you should take him if you hook.
Not everyone wants to spend the money to find out what it does in the 1/4 mile
Consider the cost of a 10 sec viper after the hp mods
at the track you need:
roll bar plus intsallation-about $2,000
safety loops about $250
5 point harnesses $250
Tranny blanket, approved harmonic balancer, gloves...
Your comment wasn't so much directed at all the other comments as you made specific reference to the phortoshop comment with the smiley icon, that's why I made my remark.
People do enjoy what they have and if you want to learn anything, you have to expect comments that may not always be to...
Are you so insecure that are are just waiting to fire back at anything you interpret as a dig against you-even when it was a joke? You've got a great car, why are you so up in arms over a little joke? Didn't you see the smile icon?
It seems as if Doug is an awesome tuner and smart enough to...
if you look at the picture of the 3 lengths of rods a little earlier you can see the thread difference. Guess you could cut and rethread if you have the tools, but for 25 bucks it wasn't a big deal
That's what I thought till you realize both ends have different size threads. So buying a bolt and cutting off the top isn't going to do it as you will only thread one side in and not the other.
As I recall the picture that is posted, that stock item doesn't come apart as you don't use any of...
One thing to think of is that this is not a perfect fit. I ordered one for my 97 GTS and returned it because the gap is pretty big on the upper left. So make sure you understand this.
BTW Vipermed was great when I returned it. No hassles whatsover and even gave me an extra 5 bucks to cover...
if you do a search there is a lot of discussionon this. With traction you should be quicker in the 1/4 mile if you can overcome the time lost with the extra shift if you have more than stock hp
Keep in mind it is a loaded question to ask what is the price difference? Some may take it as why are some tuners unreasonably so much higher than others or why are some tuners so much cheaper (poor quality kit?)
Jealous? Maybe, but if so it is coming from both camps and not just one
I'm sure your car is awesome, but I personally wouldn't want to wait for my car to get done if it takes a year to get back. I am not rich so while making payments on my viper I'd like to enjoy the car here in my posession . Making payments for a year and not driving the car would kill me. As I...
The bottom line is that everyone here is probably a loyalist to the tuner who sc their car. When Sean came out with the sc kit everyone was so excited to have a lower cost option (look at all the old posts) Now people still went to Levin and others because it was what they wanted (generally...
unfortunately blipping the throttle does nothing. Just have to wait for 15 to 30 secs for it to go down on it's own.
Still you gotta love the acceleration.
Tony, I can actually hit the brakes in 3rd gear to 10 mph, let off and the car will accelerate on it's own because the idle is still at 2000 rpm. I don't think this is supposed to be normal
