You really have to hand it to Doug. He's part Engineer, part Magician, and part Mother Teresa!... :D
Doug has taken my 1995 RT/10 "GEN-1" with 50,000 original miles on it, and has it cranking out an astonishing 816.5 rwhp (SAE corrected, of course)!
Now keep in mind that this...
I remember saying that to Treynor once. He told me the same thing I'll tell you: "Be patient!". The bragging rights of a DLM car are worth it alone!
It's not exactly fair to compare the work Doug (DLM) is performing on my Viper to other jobs of this type. It's like comparing a foot-rub to a full spa treatment! Rest assured DLM can finish a standard "Supercharger" job just a fast as anyone else. The difference is that mine is something new...
On March 5th of this year, my Viper will have been at DLM for one year. Is it worth it? Yes! When will it be done? Don't know...
He's not working on anything else until mine is finished.
Go with DLM, as you won't regret it!
Re: It\'s all Doug Levin\'s fault !!!
Wait until Doug finishes mine. There have been many improvements over the previous models. Remember, every DLM Viper is a prototype for the next. Something wonderful is coming...
I'm hoping for more than 1050 HP at the crank on my Gen-1 (sorry for the pressure, Doug!!). The only things left to switch out are: Suspension, Wheels and Tires. I've already gone "STOP•TECH" brakes, and love it.
I need a quote on a complete suspension upgrade as well as 18" 275 (front)...
Drove mine pretty much every "good weather" day for five years (1995 RT/10) to work and such. Lexus LS 400 is my primary auto, but I never had a problem with the Viper. It now has 50,000 miles on it. DLM tore the engine apart last year and even asked if it had been rebuilt before. It had...
Thank Yves!
You're very kind!
Doug still has my Viper, and I have no numbers yet. I sent it to him March of last year. I do know that Doug can pull as much HP as is possible out of a Gen-1. More important than HP is reliability, and that's DLM's specialty. He makes monster machines and...
Thanks!
DLM is between $20K and $43K (roughly last year's prices)...
It all depends on the "Stage" you want (I,II,III). I opted for "Mutant", which means replacing a few additional things to handle the extream HP/Torque plus the price of the "Stage III+". To get the best of what DLM has to...
Thanks a lot guys!
I just heard that Doug prefers the stock Viper clutch (for what I'm doing). I guess DC did a good job designing it.
JonB talked me into the Kevlar (it's still in the box), so now I have to see if he'll trade me back for a new DC factory clutch. I assume the factory one is...
Let's say for instance that DLM is pumping 1000+ HP out of your Viper (GEN-1). The "Track" is pretty much out of the question now, and there will be little if any Drag Strip action. However, there will be a lot of the usual "hang-on while I nail it" sort of action (until CA Law causes car to...

Re: Problems: \"known tuners\" ripping YOU off
I'm one of those idiots who sent his Viper and tens of thousands of dollars off to a far away land and a magical Tuner. Heck, I don't even know the specifics of what I'm getting. It's been almost a year now. I couldn't be happier!
What's the...

I know, it sounds silly ...
I always wanted...
Question?:
OK, hopefully tomorrow Doug is going to dyno my Level 3+ (I didn't opt for Nitros). If Dr. Roof has 910 hp and Treynor has 996 hp, which are either side of a Level 3+, what will I get? Any bets? Doug?...
Every time I see yours, it makes me want mine back from DLM that much more. I too live in NorCal, and miss all those "Viper Days" we have out here! Wait until you see my engine!...
