Thanks to both of you. It will be very sad to see it go. I just drove it out of the garage to post additional pics on my classified ad and almost changed mind.. :)
If anyone knows someone looking for a Gen2 GTS, I have to sell mine. :(
My wife and I are buying a new house and I have decided to part with my dream car to make the purchase a little easier. Its a 2000 Steel Grey with Silver Stripes. Just under 19k on the odometer. No mechanical issues...
Thanks for the reply Steve, my overflow bottle is empty. I will need to look for this close out panel that you are referencing. is this in the front or in the wheel well?
Hey all, I have a coolant leak under the front passenger side of the fascia. From what I read this is most likely the overflow tank leaking. I only take my car out on the weekends and notice a small pool of coolant about 3 inches in diameter on the garage floor in that area. Before seeing this...
Yup same one as mine.. Unless your airbox mounting brackets were relocated, I dont have any idea why yours would fit and mine wouldnt. Cooling fan Supercharger idea who knows..
Hmmmm. Do you have the 3 core? From what i could tell, the stock mounting holes for the airbox were set too far forward to clear the fan with the thicker radiator in it. Any pics? I posted the pic of mine positioned in the mounting location and the fan shroud is definitely in the way... Thought...
When i signed up for the VCA, I didnt choose a region. I selected to let my address determine for me and it says im a COOL user in no region on my members page... What is the correct region for Austin and how do I change? Also is there any upcoming events or meets in the Austin area?
Kevin
Ok... I think i figured out why the airbox is cut like it is. (although it probably wasnt the best solution)
After admiring the beauty of LifeIsGoods airbox, I went back out to see how I could polish mine up to look half as good as his. I noticed that the radiator was a 3 core Fluidyne. This...
HAHA! I actually read several pages of that thread a few days ago. I couldnt make it any further. Thanks for the help and the welcome!
LifeIsGood - One day I will have an air intake that looks as great as yours... one day... :smirk:
Thanks, dennis! Im certainly enjoying driving and getting to know it!
Dave, here is a pic of my airbox. Im not sure what the stock airbox looks like (as far as the section that is cut out goes). The fan looks stock comparing to your pic, but the shroud would definitely hit the airbox unless the...
Thanks, Dave. This is what I thought. Dont understand why someone would go to all the trouble riveting plastic on top of the box and then cutting such a large section out of the bottom.. It almost looks as if it was cut out to allow clearance for the cooling fan, but seems strange the stock box...
I spent about 6 hours detailing the outside of my "new to me" GTS. I used Meguires Detailing Clay and followed up with their synthetic wax (2 coats). The clay makes a huge difference if you have never tried it. Lots of work, but very worth it!
So, I bought a used viper a few weeks ago from a dealership and dont know who the previous owner was. I was looking the car over and took the airbox out to examine the DIY mod the previous owner did to it. Essentially, there is a piece of hard plastic riveted to the top of the airbox (which I...
Thats awesome, I saw some pictures and videos posted around the forums. I will definitely keep an eye out for this event and try to make it 41 next year. :2tu:
