Re: Yeti\'s Viper...
If I am going to buy a car for 100K you better not tell me I still have to go get some paint chips fixed. Fix it yourself before you go asking that kind of money.
Bought my first one from a small exotic car dealership called Daniel Schmitt in St. Louis off ebay. Thought I would be safer buying from a dealership that had more to lose than an individual if I gave them bad feedback. They had a really good feedback rating. What I didn't think about was that I...
I have 19" fronts and 20" rears in the PS2's. I don't think the ride changed much at all but I went with a taller profile tire than usual for a 20" tire. (335/30/20)

I think tinted headlights look cool on the right kind of cars. Just wondering if anyone had done theirs and had any pics. The smoke tints look awesome but can be a little dark at night. I wonder if the blue ones would look good on a B/W Viper or look too much like rice. Any opinions?
Here's my...
I know for sure the 97's had the Sneaky Pete logo. I'm pretty sure that all Vipers 94 through 02 had it as well. If you look on The Viper Store website they sell the factory Sneaky Pete keys that will fit any Viper from 94-02.
That thing is sweet! I'm going to run out and take these dang big old wide tires and wheels off my car and put some on of those skinny Vette tires and wheels after seeing that. That guy could have bought a real Viper for what he has put into this thing plus what it would take to finish it.
Greg, Thanks for the info. I have 20's in the rear so I guess I'd need to get a track only set of tires and wheels. I agree with you about Speedworld. Their track is usually better prepped than Firebird for traction but not this time.
Mike, That is a great time on that track. You have a nice looking RT/10. My mom was out there and she asked if your car was a Porsche because it looked so different from my GTS. My question is: what makes the difference between a well prepped track and and a poorly prepped one? I ran my third...
I was out there too and had the same problem hooking up. That had to be the worst prepped track I have ever run on. I have the Michelin PS2's and on all three runs I aborted because I was I was spinning all the way through 1st and 2nd gear. The third pass I walked the car off the line then gave...
If you are going broke because of your Viper and accessories then I could see selling it. But if it's something that really gives you pleasure and you have your finances in order I don't get it. The car is not an investment for me so I'm not going to sell it to make a few thousand unless I am...
That's one of the best posts I've ever read. I think I'll print it out and read it to my wife. I want her to understand how special Vipers really are. Good decision.
Is there a chance the antifreeze is going into the engine? Hope not but happened to me when the head gasket went out. That's a lot of antifreeze to be missing.
Can relate to the excitement of going and getting the car. I drove my first one back from St. Louis to Phoenix. I think of a couple reasons to drive mine everyday also. Welcome!
I think I figured this whole thing out. The car was actually abducted by aliens who mistook it for one of their spaceships. They are to blame for the thing running so bad bacause they really suck at tuning Vipers. They only brought it back because the damn thing is too hard to get in and out of. LOL
19" and 20" tires are usually alot lower profile so they don't fill up as much of the wheel well. The second number in the tire size indicates the tire's profile height. It is a percentage ratio of the tires width (ie the 30 in 275/30/19) A 275/35/19 would be taller than the 275/30/19 and fill...
I'm sure some of the more experienced members will chime in but are you talking about the normal neutral gear chatter? Most Gen I and II Vipers have a chattering sound when idling in neutral that is nothing to worry about. Kind of sounds like what you described.
