I was pulled in my first Viper and charge with a 88/55 when I was really going about 25 mph slower. I had to get a lawyer to get it down to 64/55. Amazingly, this all happens in the little beach town I live in.
I was followed home one day. By a local police officer who wanted to look at my car. My kids were disappointed when I didn't get a ticket. I wish your experience had been more like mine.
I was driving to work this morning at 6:00 am. Cruising at about 4 mph over the speed limit. No other cars on the road - other than the jerk tailgating me. After about 1 mile of this, on come the blue lights.
"Mr. Miller I paced your car at 45 in a 35 and 55 in a 45." After checking my...
Eric,
ABS makes a large difference in driving these cars...you may want to consider looking at a 01 car.
Just kidding. I hope everything works out well.

I had over 30000 miles on crower rockers without any problems, and no sign of wear on the rockers. This included road racing, drag racing (with 200 shot of nitrous) and much daily driving. What concerned me with these was the possibility of a missed shift in the down direction (1st instead of...
I've put about 65K miles on Vipers in the last 4 years. I really don't have a place for another car, so it's either a Viper daily driver or no Viper. I now get about 14.5 mpg (after 8K break in) back and forth to work (my '94 got 15.5), but I pretty much cruise along. If I could I would buy a...
I had headers + 3" catless exhaust on the '94 I had. The side sills never got hot enough to burn. The headers did make the engine compartment warmer and maybe the footwell through that, but I never had to worry about burning my legs with the sills. I can't see anyway that removing the cats...
Have you checked the welds on your car to see if you need the recall done yet? I would think that with the new front end you're OK there and the rear welds shouldn't be a major concern, unless you've done a lot of dragging with slicks.
This buys you some time for dealing with your dealer...
I had a lot of problems with the Vmania's on my 94. Every car is a little different, so don't be afraid to send them back if they don't fit your car. Biff will back his product. I used them anyway, it was just a major hassle to get them to fit right and work with the factory hard top and soft...
I know the feeling Gerald. So far it has passed me before I became Viperless. I think its the everyday driving. Breaking the speed limit loses its fun after a couple of years and then you're driving the speed limit. I can do that in a neon...
then comes the sunny, 75 deg day to chase the...
I remember seeing the first pics of the Black/Silver GTS in the Dodge brochure. It almost made a GTS guy out of me! I had to have stripes painted on my old RT just to make me feel better. Hopefully the 03 will make you feel the same way.
I wasn't going to Jacksonville this weekend, but I'm going to try for next weekend. A friend of a friend wants to race has new TT porsche...
If you need to talk to someone today, try Wayne Murphy at Wayne's Dyno. He used to be the Viper tech in Jacksonville and lives in that area. There's a...
Our resident tech, Tom Sessions lives about 20 minutes from there. He'll be back in town next Wednesday after Viper Days is over. Its possible that I'll be going to Jacksonville sometime soon to run their 1/4 strip...When do you need someone to look at it?
Dave
I drive my 01 roadster daily and my '94 before that.
My thoughts:
Bad:
A Viper sucks if you have a backache.
Vision in traffic is terrible.
If you drive the speed limit, you only get one good shift.
Maintaining a Viper is expensive compared to a normal car.
Good:
Being first at the stop...
Mine doesn't skip sitting still, but it does skip quite a bit. MUCH more than the trunk mounted one I had in my '94. I also had the glove box lock replaced because it rattled so bad with any bass and now the new one does it too.
Oh well. I didn't buy a Viper to listen to the radio, but...
Henry Cone...he must be that funny looking guy in the harness who is always hanging around Janni.
For those who are interested.
