    I had headers + 3" catless exhaust on the '94 I had. The side sills never got hot enough to burn. The headers did make the engine compartment warmer and maybe the footwell through that, but I never had to worry about burning my legs with the sills. I can't see anyway that removing the cats...

    Have you checked the welds on your car to see if you need the recall done yet? I would think that with the new front end you're OK there and the rear welds shouldn't be a major concern, unless you've done a lot of dragging with slicks. This buys you some time for dealing with your dealer...
