    Poll - header heat shields. You got 'em?

    Belangers with "stock" heat shields. Not hard at all to get the stock shields to conform. A little bend here and a little foot action there. I tried it without, but the heater box was roasting hot.

    Optima Batteries can kiss my.......

    Two different Optima batteries, two different Vipers, both left me stranded on the road. One was caused by arching to the frame and the other,who knows. Both times, pulled into a parking lot, shut it off, dead when trying to restart. Junk batteries.

    Snapping Sound When Door Opened/Closed

    Broke the tab on my '97 last year. I was able to repair it with my MIG welder. Didn't want to remove the hinge, so I carefully welded it together. Worked great.

    Best Twin Turbo Setup!!!!!

    Not sure what your budget is, but it's tough to beat Underground Racing for a reliable big HP system. Drop your car off, pick it up with big smiles. If your a DIY kind of guy, the CPE sounds like an affordable fun project.

    Amp wire routing in GTS

    I ran mine under the driver's side carpet. Had to remove the interior trim panels behind the driver seat, and the driver's side panel in the rear hatch area, but it was a piece of cake.

    Anyone using the new handheld programmers yet?

    I bought the Roe SCT unit and it works great! It really woke it up above 3K RPM. Extremely easy to install. My mods are Balanger headers, RT cats, Corsa exhaust, K&N's and smooth tubes. At 3K, it's like a switch was flipped. I'm happy with it.

    Garage Floors...

    vette2viper, that system is an "epoxy vinyl chip system. I'm a distributor for decorative concrete products in Concord, NC. I actually have a great contractor located in Greensboro, NC that installs all of our systems, including epoxy/urethane systems. PM me if you would like his info.

    Thanks Guys! I think you talked me in to keeping the FE. I stopped home for lunch and walked by the car. I think I'd be sorry. I'll have to work harder and add a SRT coupe later. FE it is!!!

    I have a chance to trade up to a 2006 red/silver stripe coupe with 6K miles. I currently have an 02 FE with 6,700 original miles in perfect condition. A local dealer has a the '06 coupe. A difference of less than 10K would probably get it done. Have I lost my mind?

    170/180 degree thermostat

    I just took out a 170 and installed the 180 stat. The 170 would heat up and eventually stay open. This results in the thermostat not being able to close long enough to trap the coolant in the radiator to allow for ample cooling. The 180 works much better. That and the Ron Davis radiator helped...
