Best polish to buy

I used the following process on my '95 from Autopia: http://autopia.org/kb/index.php?page=index_v2&id=26&c=16 You will be stunned by the results - afterwards people said my car looked like it was brand new.

Maintain the value of your snake?

Way too many made??? Between 1992 and 2003, there were a total of 19,824 Vipers produced, according to the Viper Registry: http://ivr.viperclub.org/build.php Check out the Corvette build numbers: http://www.idavette.net/facts.htm The value of the big block era Corvettes of the mid-60's are...

    Soft or hard top

Sorry, I should have mentioned I have the original version. I don't track mine so it wasn't even an issue with me. But I don't see how you could wear a helmet with this low-profile hardtop. I bought it for the drastic temperature swings here in Michigan during the summer - no top during the...

    Soft or hard top

The three-piece doesn't leak at the seams, it has a very tight seal. But water will come in from where the front corners meet the windshied posts when you are moving. It comes painted or unfinished. Still noisy, but not as noisy as no top. No good over 100mph - more for street use. Get more...

    Best brake pads

If you do a search on previous posts, why have so many people spoken highly of the EBC Greens then? I bought a set for my '95 just before I put it away for the winter, so are you telling me I shouldn't put them on come spring? My car is 100% street, no track.

    Don't trust Mercury Insurance

Re: Don\'t trust Mercury Insurance Have you ever had a claim with Progressive? Pray to God you don't. I had a $2,100 claim with them before (the only claim ever in my life at that point) and I felt like I was being interrogated by the FBI. Yes, they were cheap, but cheap isn't always the...

CCA of battery and Roe exhaust

94RT10Ohio, how does the Roe exhaust sound? Is it loud enough or rumbly? I have heard so many mixed opinions on it, that's why I've been holding off on changing the exhaust system in my '95. Thanks, Brian

New Viper Coupe at LA auto show

Funny from reading the posts, it seems like most of the current GTS owners don't like the new coupe, but most of the RT owners do. Personally, I like it (but I own an RT).

    Coming Soon...

The original flatter one works fine for me. I got the trunktop for my '95 late this fall. Every single person I ran into said the car looked much better with the top than without. The craftmanship quality is excellent - the gelcoat finish is another story, very poor quality in my opinion -...

    GEN I prices

I bought my fully stock '95 with 20,000 miles last May for $36,500 - I thought it was a pretty good deal. I was offered $42,000 for it in mid-June. For those of you not in the rural Midwest, when the first big warm spell hits, sports car and convertible prices go through the roof! Most people...

    GEN I prices

If you look in the classifieds here or autotrader.com, 94's and 95's are all in the high 30's and low 40's. 40's is definitely no way. High 30's, yes if it's a low mileage car and exactly what you're looking for. But here in the Midwest, sports car prices fluctuate hugely with the seasons. A...

    Removing Stock Cats

Thanks, Craig. I'll probably take you up on your offer next summer. Brian

    Removing Stock Cats

Has anyone with a stock exhaust manifold removed the stock cats and mufflers, and replaced them with just a 30" Dynomax Bullit or Ultraflow mufflers, or the 30" Summit Chambered mufflers? I would think these longer mufflers would tone it down enough to make the noise level bearable??? I still...

    RT/10 owners in Michigan area?

I have the 3-piece hardtop - it's still noisy - but I'm not sure how quiet you could get an RT/10 because of the drop-in windows. Also, not sure where you're at in Michigan, but we have several inches of snow here in Saginaw, and the roads have been salted - can't believe anyone would still...

    North America's Fastest Production Cars

Re: North America\'s Fastest Production Cars That is the most deceiving list I've ever seen regarding 1/4 mile times! Check out this more realistic list: http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/general/musclecars-50fast.shtml

Anyone in Michigan with Gen 2 RT-10????????

Sorry, I have a Gen 1. But most of the people I know have put their cars away already in Mich. Our first big snow storm was the day before Thanksgiving, and the roads have been salted - that's when we usually put 'em away here. But the snow's gone and the roads are clear now - so I'm sure...

Are Edmunds & Kelly Blue Book reliable?

Blue book value brings up a good point in regards to insurance on a Viper: if my car is wrecked or stolen, will my insurance company reimburse me enough to replace my Viper with a similar one? If what everyone says about blue book is true, I'd say the answer is "No". Do the regular insurance...

Any word on a 2005 VCA calendar?

Am I doing something wrong? I can't find any pictures of Vipers with chicks on the Kansas VCA website for their calendar project. Why would anyone want a calendar without women in it?

    >> Thieves trying to steal my Viper out of my garage last night! <<

Buy guns you have easy access to from any area in your house, and let your friends and neighbors know you have lots of guns. If people know you have guns (since most thieves are acquaintances of friends and neighbors), you will not get robbed - it's that simple!

Detroit / Ann Arbor Area Viper Mechanics???

Does anyone know of any viper techs further north than this - I live in Saginaw? Or is it worth the drive to Dick Scott Dodge?

how often do you wash your cars?

JWVIPER - you only clean your wheels 2 times a month? I need to clean mine about twice a week - brake dust is a pain in the a**! I rarely wash it - just use the duster, detail spray, and Pinnacle Wax. The car seems dirtier after I wash it, must have bad water around here!

    Cat-back Exhaust for a 95 rt/10

I'm still searching for an exhaust system, too. I hear so many conflicting views, you don't know who to believe. My '95 is stock and I don't plan on getting headers. I would like high flow cats & mufflers, cats & no mufflers, or mufflers & no cats in some combination. I was...

    ROE Exhaust for GEN I

I would like to upgrade the exhaust on my '95 as well. It's almost embarrasing with the stock exhaust when someone asks you "let's hear the engine." Just how loud is it? Loud enough where I'll be getting tickets? Roe says it's a direct bolt on for the '95 and can be done with the car on...

Would you sell the raffel car if you were the winner?

The car looks beautiful, and I would definitely keep it, but I would probably have to sell my '95 to pay the taxes on it. Winner is responsible for sales, luxury, gas guzzler, and income taxes - ouch! Not sure what the car is valued at - $100,000??? So sales tax at 6% is $6,000. Not sure...

10 weeks and still no VCA membership!

I paid the prorated membership fee, so they must process them throughout the year, not just the start of a new year. If it took you that long, I'll just be patient then.
