I failed to mention that the dealer said he cleared the code and flashed the PCM after replacing the plugs and wires. Again, the car has never run badly but it does pop on decel (not a loud backfire) and has been doing that a long time. I actually thought that was normal. I may need to just...
I have a 2000 GTS, essentially stock motor with 18000 miles on it. My check engine light came on and I took it to the dealer as I have an extended warranty. Code P0300 (multiple cylinder mis fire) came up and the tech said he found corroded 2,6, and 7 plugs and wire terminals. Replaced plugs...
It would. I just purchased an after market clutch kit and the pressure plate weighs 30 lbs. I am curious how that compares to the stock pressure plate and others like your Spec. It just seems a bit heavy to me and I would like to keep the rotating mass to a minimum. Again, thanks for the help.
Thanks for the heads-up, I am just getting ready to replace my mounts as well. I hope the Woodhouse mounts are available soon.
Looking forward to Saturday. It will be hot but no rain forcasted.
I think you are looking at it the wrong way. You are very lucky that you discovered the bent frame. God was looking after you, he didn't want you to have THAT viper. Don't get in a hurry and you will find the right car.
I would guess around 10:30 as John put 11:00 as the meeting time and noon for lunch. That should put us there a little early and give us plenty of time to socialize and check out the other cars.
I will be going Matt and a caravan would be fun. Last year Bobby and I met at the gas station (BP or Hess) in front of the entrance to Champions Gate right off I-4 (Osceola Polk Line Road). Let me know what you think.
Looks great. I am looking forward to seeing the final product and hearing about the results as I would like to do a side exhaust on my GTS as well.
How did you cover/repair the hole in the rear of the car where the stock exhaust protrudes out?
You mentioned wiring the rear O2 sensor but...
That had to be what happened at first, just as Dan said. Some of the material on my rims and calipers was thicker and more viscous than brake fluid and there was a lot of it on there. It is strange to me that the technician at Stoptech didn't think the rotors had anything to do with it. With...
Thanks for the tip but I hope I don't have to use it.
I just talked to a technician at StopTech and he said that the "problem" was most likely residual brake fluid in the bleeder screws that works its way out after getting hot. He did not feel that it was coming from the rotors. He said...
The education continues. I really appreciate all your help with this.
That is a great picture. I was wondering how the bleeder screw worked. It would seem that once closed, there would still be some brake fluid between the threads and cone seat. I just wonder if it is possible that when...
The difference is already quite noticeable. There are some twisty back roads around my house and this afternoon I drove it pretty hard. I found myself taking off way too much speed before entering the corners where as before I wasn't really sure if I would be able to make the turns at times...
Thanks for the torque number and advice Dan. Just took her out again and I am down to one leaking bleeder after some really heavy use on the back roads.
That might be my next step after following Dan's advice, thanks.
That certainly looks familiar Dan and I am beginning to think that most of the deposits may have come from that but as stated above I am still getting a very small amount of brake fluid seeping from the bleeder screws. I haven't ruled out the possibility of some residual fluid around the...
Thanks. I have cleaned everything and retried twice. It has impoved significantly after the first run so this may have been part of the problem but I am still getting a very small amount of fluid around the inboard bleeder screws.
The reservoir level is fine Chuck. I haven't noticed a...
Thanks
This seems to be the source of my problem Matt. After cleaning everything up a second time and tightening all the fittings, I took it out again and after some braking felt around all the possible leak points. All were dry except three of the inboard bleeder screws. I assume what...
