The door has never been painted. I can tell from the texture of the paint. Carfax report on it was clean, too. The black coming through is from the edge of the door - it's easy to get a mark like that, I've had it happen on other cars. It just looks worse on silver because it contrasts...
I'm going to ask the guy's advice who does the airbrushing. If he wants to do it with touchup, that works for me.
I went and filled her up just now - took 15.1 gallons. It was on E and the light was on for about 10 miles, so I assume we hold roughly 16 gallons of gas? It averaged about...
Thanks.
That is on the door though, not the front of the car.
Also, has anyone replaced the speakers in the door? They look like 6.5" components, and they seem quite easy to get to. Probably would be a cheap upgrade that would improve the sound.
And does this stereo have an actual...
My 03 calls for 10w30 according to the gas cap. I'm not going to modify this car - that is what I have my other one for.
I looked up prices for the RB1 and for $500 I can get a much better aftermarket deck. I just need to find someone that makes a kit to fit it into the viper's dash...
Doesn't this car need SAE sized sockets, not metric? I only have metric sockets from all the european cars that I own/previously owned, so I figured I'd have to get some new sockets...
2003 SRT-10, 2800 miles, perfect condition. The car is essentially "as new".
I have put 140 miles on the car since yesterday, and I've burned through 3/4th of the tank. I picked it up with just over 3/4th's a tank, and now it's on empty. Ouch! I wasn't even pushing...
I noticed I heard a clunk at the bottom of the window travel when I roll down my window. I'm not sure if it's the same thing described here, but I'll listen more closely tomorrow. Also a 2003 model.

Well no offense to you guys, but it's common for owners of certain cars to think they are worth more than they really are.
Him and I agreed on a price (I think trying to sell that car now with summer almost over hurt him), and I'm going to go pick it up today.

I think there were two recalls for 2003? Besides, the recalls have already been done, so taking an 03 for $20,000 less than an 05 seems like a good idea to me! :)
That was a good read, thanks for the link. Interesting to see that the 03's had forged connecting rods and the 04+s don't.
How much is a tonneau cover? When the top is down it looks like it's not missing anything though.
Also, do the 03's have adjustable pedals?
So what do you guys think is a good deal for this car, being that the ownership is a little high and one of the wheels has a curb mark? Yes, I know it may not matter to some people about ownership, but selling a Viper seems to be tricky, so points against you don't help.
I'm getting it to drive, but I also don't like to take a bath on my cars. I don't want to buy something that will depreciate like a rock, so I try to judge the market accordingly. I have looked at all the Vipers that have gone through manheim, and the price seems right. My only concern is...
My main concern is that I will be the third owner of this vehicle, even though the first owner put on all the miles. I feel that the price is fair, but given that I suspect the market is soft on the Viper, someone being the fourth owner could make it extremely hard to sell. Sure there is...
Thanks guys. Does the seat lowering kit make it so that the seat won't move back and forth anymore though? I would assume so. I guess that's not a big deal once I set it to the correct position.
I noticed that the studs for the exhaust manifolds were all rusty, yet the car had never seen...
So I found a 2003 SRT-10 with 2800 miles on it for about $45,000. Silver on black, no stripes.
The car is in as new condition, except for a small curb mark on one of the wheels. Whatever recalls there are have been done, and the first service was done. It is due for an oil change though...
