Welcome Cherm,
If you can possibly make it to Thunderhill on Monday, November 26 there is a Memorial event which will allow you to meet a bunch of the NorCal Viper owners. http://www.Thunderhill.com/
I can speak for at least a few of us who would be happy to take you out for a few laps in...
Re: Help \"LOUD\" clunk....
SoCal,
Mine did the exact same thing as you described.
Found the diff mounting bolts to be loose. Really loose! Tightened them up and the clunk was gone.
Good Luck.
Tom and Sarah,
I have been running track events for about a year without cats (stock ECU) in my '96 GTS with no issues. Through TNT headers and a Borla cat back I get 2+ foot flames out the exhaust when upshifting at redline. It looks incredible at night. It is also very loud.
I have seen no...
Re: What do you track rats do for not so \"cool\"ant temps??
Dion,
I've now run four of the Viper Days events in CA and just recently got back from Spring Mountain. With a Fluidyne radiator, Water Wetter, etc in the car at the CA events I was seeing 230-240 degrees on the track. I just...
Ben,
I have the BBS LM's for my '96. They are at Valaya Racing this week as I just ran the Spring Mountain Viper Days event. If you want to try them out for looks before you purchase, drive over there and have Ted put them on for a day or two.
Congrats, the car looks great!
1 bad gts, Fred, anyone,
I have headers and exhaust with an extrude hone intake on a '96 GTS. I am thinking of doing heads as my next modification and considering a cam at the same time. I am curious what cam profiles you guys are running that work on the street (pass CA smog) as well as the...
Ben,
Sounds like you had a great time. Glad to hear you only got muddy. What tire temperatures did you find to work best? Also, any tips on set-up for those of us with minimal track experience?
Anyone with good road racing advice please jump in.
Thanks.
In the actual magazine there is a picture of the starting grid with two Vipers clearly visible lined up and ready to go. It is in the July 23, 2001 BusinessWeek issue.
Illy,
Ted May and I will be caravanning down on Friday and back on Monday if you would like to join us.
As for track prep, see the Viperdays website for safety requirements and you might want to visit the tech session at Ted's shop (Valaya Racing) this Saturday for tips on what to do and look...
tomatper,
I have the blue Viper your friend was referring to.
If anyone ever has the chance to run the Hill Climb I suggest you take the opportunity. It is a gathering of motorheads just having fun legally tearing up a twisty mountain road at triple digit speeds. It is held on Father's Day...
