Frank Parise has forgotten more than most of us will ever know about tracking/modifying Vipers. When he speaks it is from long experience, we are all grateful for his observations. Let's see what comes out of Willow Springs this weekend. I'm hoping the SRT is all that and a bag of chips...
Being a price hound is a good reason to call Pemberton. I am constantly amazed at the deals friends have gotten from him and have never heard of a dissappointment. One buddy who is on his third Snake was so happy with his purchase (Bill had detailed the car which he had described as "in good...
For those that haven't used one before one of the great design featurs of the Autoform splitter is that it has a natural "hinge" to it in the way it is attatched to your car allowing it to ride up over most obstructions that you can't steer around. I was constantly impressed by this on both...
What's got me thinking is the way they upped the bar when the RT10 went hardtop. They took what they learned from the previous generation and added power and handling. The Gen II car was a landmark.
I am very interested in hearing the results of road racing the SRT from experienced drivers...
Re: Gas Guzzler Tax is Bogus, We\'re Getting Screwed.
The gas guzzler tax is an arbitrary mechanism for shaking money out of consumers, designed only to transfer money from your paycheck to the government. If you are going to tax gas guzzling you do it on the fuel itself, not a machine that may...
A fast if not the fastest growing source of revenues for police agencies come from forfietures, the confistication and sale of private property expropriated under such laws. Vehicles used in drug busts, prostitution solicitations etc. have been confisticated and sold even when the registered...
Putting a turnbuckle on a threaded lead will allow adjustment forward of the fascia for tuning the angle of attack with minimal risk to bodywork from turning wrenches. If the car is going to be street driven a pair of "sleds" underneath the leading lip can help the splitter float over speed...
Tis the Jabberwok in photo #5; "The Banndersnatch did gile and gimble in it's wabe..." Woe to the momegraths, who says smoking is bad for you . Great shots all.
Been there, done that. Interview the sources of your insurance company's report. My company interviewed four people, when I visited them three disclaimed the results and the fourth was a wholesaler (only retailers are allowed under my company's rules).
Good to see Jon B. on this thread...
Keeping in mind it's a website put together by the editors of CNN (remember cold fusion?) and Money Magazine (the People magazine of business)it's not bad. True enough inflation and unemployment are low but they sure missed the consumer spending numbers and retail sales figures. Manufacturing...
What's this "problem with the economy"? Inflation is history, interest rates the lowest in a generation, productivity is rising (especially when compared to our competition in Europe and Japan), unemployment low and take out the effects of ever increasing taxes and lawsuits the consumer price...
Regular shop floor paint with a little sand is slip resistant and your can chose where to put the sand. Do the entire floor and let dry. Repaint the areas your want traction control and sprinkle some sand there. Let dry then sweep. That way you have slick areas where you can easily wipe away...
How'd you like to be the guy that has his new Ferrari spanked by a $30k Viper? Thaqt's gotta feel good . The Viper is a hell of a value at MSRP, at half it's that much better and it lets real car guys get their hands on them instead of the bucks up posers that are scared to get on a race...
Let me get this straight, a '96 holds 50% of MSRP at the end of 2002, darn near 2003 and that's bad? How many cars are worth that percentage of the original sticker seven years on?
It is common to put two air scoops such as you would use for brake cooling lines at the rear of the airbox (and feed these directly to the throttle body tubes)to increase the airflow through the box/filter, is this what you are describing? I recall claims of 5-7hp bandied about a couple of years...
No. The airdam alone will change the entire configuration. You'll notice that's the first piece that's pulled when HMS takes a car to the strip, the rear wing comes off too. My car hit a wall around 170 once the aero was tacked on (though it really stuck to the ground with wing, splitter and...
Kudo's to the guys at Dodge for putting some brakes on that rascal. It was a real treat to read review after review showing the flying brick finally outstopping GM's finest. The SRT is so dominant the car mags are reduced to bitching about warm toes so I know the bloodlines are intact.
The car...
The fiberglass is a bit thicker than the sheet metal of the stock pieces so plan on doing a slight bit of work fitting them under the lip of the door sill. There was minor prep work involved before painting. I used Gen I Autoform sills on my GTS and had excellect service from them, even...
