Has anyone attempted to put vinyl stripes on a GTS? If anyone has close-up pictures of the NACA duct or front and rear bumpers please email my or post them. Also how long did it take to do?? All comments are welcomed.

Sandy: Silver Stripes look great on a graphite ACR. See the instructions in the How To section on this site. You may also want to search the archives. Good Luck.

Son in law had his 97 GTS done a couple of years ago....did not go thru the NACA duct, just around it....did not go thru the rear plate area....only small problem was from the natural curvature of the front and rear of the car, caused the stripes to not be 100% straight below the rear bumper and on the lower front fascia.....wouldn't notice unless pointed out to you....cost was around $300. Very nice alternative and removeable if you decide to change again later on....

Neil,
Very nice! The stripes look great!
I have been thinking of putting some stripes on my GTS also! Looks like it might be a rainy day project this spring!

I had a local after market shop install them. They feel like they have less depth than painted strips. Take a look at two vipers together, one with silver stripes and one with white stripes than make your decision.

My car is a 2000 GTS with Silver (factory) stripes. I put 7" white stripes on top of the 8" factory stripes. Material cost was $75. It took about 2 hours, but I wan't picky about the parts that were only visable from below.

I like the combination.

This was taken at Viper Days Nashville 2002 after VOI 7. The nose on the car is a spare I use for track events.

Neil,

Besides the standard vinyl is there any special material you are refering to for fashioning stripes around the intake duct on the hood?

Paul, still vinyl but 3M Controltac, is the best you can get in the way it will go around compound curves. We did a few Compaq F1 artics and IT coaches in this material recently, completely wrapping them top to bottom, so a duct is no problem.
The downside is it costs a fortune
