HELP Service Engine Soon Light P1494

    1) You can clear it with a code scanner 2) You can unhook the battery. Most like to leave it unhooked for 30 minutes. Drawback is that the PCM is cleared of everything it has learned and driveability may suffer until it relearns.

HELP Service Engine Soon Light P1494

A bunch of stuff could have caused that error. I would re-check that the gas cap is not leaking again, then visually inspect all the lines and connectors associated with the LDP. If all looks good, I would take it in for the dealer to test.

chromed gen II wheels, who's done it?

Re: chromed gen II wheels, who\'s done it? I have heard accounts of chroming making the metal brittle. Okay for street, bad for track.

    GTS cargo covers

The owner and operator of ViperWare passed away not too long ago and the website is down. I would check with JonB at PartsRack, perhaps he picked up the inventory. He also carries, as mentioned above, the Snake Oyl cargo cover.

West Coast Viper PCM mod issues, anyone else?

True, but if you haven't already, you should check with the seller if there were any parameters they tweaked just a little more for the former owner. What worked for that car, if it worked at all, may not work on your car.

West Coast Viper PCM mod issues, anyone else?

You have to be careful, because most of the time, the reprogramming changes and is tailored to the customers requirements.

    Help! Problem with my '01

Re: Help! Problem with my \'01 Cool. Just a side note, every once in a blue moon, my alarm will act up where the fob will not be able to unlock the car. BUT the alarm WILL go off if I open the hatch with the key. After a few minutes, everything works fine again. Hasn't happened in a couple of...

    Help! Problem with my '01

Re: Help! Problem with my \'01 The EEM is under he driver's side instrument pan held to the tunnel with a rubber strap. I'm sure it's pretty costly to replace. I'ld test a little further to pinpoint the problem.

    Help! Problem with my '01

Re: Help! Problem with my \'01 The EEM may be dead. Seems like the most likely culprit if both door handles are not working. Does it honk 3 times or does nothing at all when you use the key fob? Tested the car battery?

HP vs. RPM & Torque vs. RPM

Big Medicine, You've made your point, and it is duly noted. Thanks for the great discussion. It's been one of the best that I've had on this board in a while.

HP vs. RPM & Torque vs. RPM

Well, the HP curve let's you know at what RPM your engine is working at it's peak and when the amount of energy it produces starts to tail off. Your Torque numbers may still be increasing at this point, but the rate of change of the torque with respect to RPM will be slower.

HP vs. RPM & Torque vs. RPM

To answer the question: from my previous post with calculations and Makara's, HP = Torq * RPM/5252 at 5252 RPMs, HP = Torq * 5252/5252, therefore HP = Torque. HP and Torque do tell you a lot. BUT it only tells you about what the ENGINE is capable of doing. You also have to factor...

HP vs. RPM & Torque vs. RPM

    Torq = force = lb*ft 1 HP = 33000 lb*ft/minute w = RPM angular velocity = 2*PI*w = distance/time Power = force*distance/time = Torque*(2*PI*w) = Torq * 2*PI * RPM = lb-ft * Revolutions/ 1minute Conversion from Power to HP Total amount of HP in power = Power/ 1HP = (Torq * 2*PI * RPM)/33...
