Removed the inlet manifold this afternoon - no issues. :2tu:
A pair of long nose pliers were useful for removing the 20 securing bolts tucked down beneath the inlet casting.
The injector wires were cable tied to the inlet manifold.
The only way I could get to these was to careful...
I'm no good at "multiple quote" so you'll have to suffer as follows.
Viper Grenade:-
“Did you mean to ask what is the flow rate difference between Gen2 and Gen3 Stage 3 race ported Heads?”
I think he did - I’ve no idea what exact flow figures are involved but I’m sure someone out their...
IOM on four wheels - excellent!
I've only ever done it on two wheels, many years ago.
And Mad Sunday - you haven't lived until you've done it.

Thanks Mike,
Yeh, I know I've got some welding to do for the P/S pulley mount - it's on the list of things to do. :2tu:
But the rockers..... I thought stock Gen 3 rockers were 1.7?
Yep - track mine.
Would be rude not too.
Here's one I did last month at the Ring.

And another at Siverstone.

Without getting into which catch tank is the best - oh what the hell, I have the same one as ViperTony - I checked mine today and drained just over 1/2 pint of oil. :omg:
I wasn't really expecting quite that much but I guess after a season of spirited driving - two trackdays and a weekend at...
Thanks all.
And thanks Mark - appreciate the offer of support.
Not much progress this week – only managed a few minutes in the garage - jacked her up into the usual wintertime position.
Tested new SCT programmer. :2tu:
And removed some other bits and bobs.
Still a long way to go before...
Thanks PC - I can assure you I did consider a cam upgrade but the decision to not upgrade was based on several factors namely extra cost and a lot of extra work.
Also I’m hoping I can get the power increase I'm looking for without changingout the stock cam.
Normally Aspirated power upgrade on a Gen 2 (96)

“At last Winter’s here!”
Well, almost here.
Most people aren’t general too pleased to see winter arrive but this year “I am” because at last I can begin my long awaited winter project. I started planning this over...
If nobody else can help with an image, I can look at taking you some photos during the winter months when the car'll be up on axle stands.
But if you're after photos of the inlet port on the filter when fitted, I'm gonna struggle - I could only just touch it let alone photograph it!
Hi Dale,
Welcome to my world - hope you enjoy our website.
We should have tried harder to hookup when I visited the Ring end August - had a fabulous time.
Bump into Michael of Mintgen in the padocks on the Sunday afternoon - wasn't racing Vipers that day though.
Also saw the Lexus steaming...
Just a quick note to all you folks in the States to share a video I've finally finished on our trackday at Silverstone last month.
I know how y'all like to watch a video.
Hope you enjoy.
Adrian.

Glad you and Mrs E tar are safe and nobody was hurt.
Thanks for sharing - respect your humility, first class. :2tu:
It's stories like this that make a difference to our community - they certainly help focus my mind.
"Plan your trip a little early and come say hello - you'll see us at the Ring on 26, 27, 28 & 29 August."
5 or 6 Vipers from the UK celebrating plus the German's who usually number around another 12.
Many other car enthusiasts out during that weekend too - it's a good meet and includes...
Does anyone know where I can get one of these from because I want one but Sean Roe has discontinued them?

Many thanks,
Ade.
Thanks for the update Tony - I'm reading your progress on this thread with great interest as I finally have all my spares ordered for my NA build this winter.
Good luck next week and keep us posted.
Yeh, I agree - I think he's talking rear crankshaft oil seal too.
I did this job a few years ago on my Gen II - check-out Illustrated Upgrades.

Hey guys, my envelope was just fine - wonderful seal - all in one piece - looked beautiful - you should have seen it......
I'm pretty much done with it now and was gonna throw it away but if any of you guys want it I'd be please to send it on..... :rolaugh:
Water leaking into the boot/trunk is probably caused by the rubber weather seal lifting away from the bodywork.
The seal needs re-fitting to plug the gap.
What's happened is the seal has shrunk (contracted) over the years and lifted away from the bodywork next to the drain holes, ironicaly...
I agree, the 3.54 gear is a definite first class improvement.
But I don't see any mention of changing the diff? It's the next weakest link, depending on how you use your horse-power I suppose.
I fitted a 3.54 gear with an OSG diff last winter and the difference is remarkable.
