I recently street tuned the GTS with Roe S/C(5lb), W/M, Bellanger headers and was able to get the A/F in the 11.5 range from 2K to 4.5K rpm. This was done in 3rd gear tuning with a Wideband Commander and VEC2 software.
Several weeks later dynoed to check A/F to 5.7K rpms and get a HP reading...
What happened? I was considering the 6.5lb pulley and roller rockers but not if they caused your piston damage. Did you Dyno the car with the mods in your signature? Rick
Yes Amsoil has been around for awhile, a customer of mine was selling the stuff back in 1975. I would have to see their claims substantiated by an independent lab,one that has NO financial interset in the company or product. Otherwise consider it snakeoil. IMHO
Shelby I agree with the others, a wideband A/F monitor is a must with the mods your running. Feed the signal into the VEC2 and get some valuable data to optimize you setup.
VEC1 and VEC2 is a Roe Racing product.
A Dyno tune is not necessary. To tune it yourself requires the VEC2 software, which is supplied, and a wideband A/F monitor linked to the VEC2.It helps to have a closed track (LOL) to make test runs similar to Dyno pulls.
Sean Roe is very helpful...
The VEC1 did improve performance on my 2001 GTS with K&Ns and Smooth Tubes, the LED display permits "DIY" tuning while driving.
The VEC2 has greater tuning capabilities but does not have an A/F gauge and cannot be tuned while driving. You can have a Tuner dial it in, $300-500$, or...

Re: Won\'t go into Open Loop mode - need troubleshooting help
I'm told that TPS sensors seldom go bad, that it's more likely a bad connection cause by the cable pulling down on the connector or in my case a poor ground.
Re: Won\'t go into Open Loop mode - need troubleshooting help
My VEC2 is wired to measure the TPS signal and I get the same values. The Viper Service manual gives a range of .5V to 3.5V @ WOT. Assuming you have the VEC2 software chart this signal, the rise time should be very short. At the...
Do you have to get a tune or mess around with the programing afterwards?
The program cards supplied work well. If you want to extract the maximum HP out of the setup,a Dyno and Tuner experienced with VEC2 software will be required.
Rich are you installing the W/M kit yourself? I had to tweak the program settings to get the A/F dialed in. The VEC2 software and Sean's expert guidence is all that's needed.
6D what Rev.? The card supplied with the kit supplied too much water for 5psi causing break up at 3500 RPMs. A/F was 10.0 at 3500 and above. With some street tuning and Seans help we dialed it in to 11.5 -12.0.under boost.A fantastic power adder for the money. :2tu:
My 2001 GTS is set at 50% under 5K RPM and that is still too much water. Why does your setup need over 100%?
BTW the pump is driven by PWM (Pulse Width Modulation)which controls the pump speed by variying the current, the voltage remain constant. This is the most efficient way to control a...
I'm with Bill B and spend the whole 10K on motor mods. The Roe S/C is good but with W/M, headers, rockers, wires it's awesome for every day street performance. The support from Roe, if needed, is outstanding. :2tu:
H B Nadine. :) I installed the Wideband commander on my GTS, the O2 sensor is on the drivers side. Since you monitor both sides is there a difference in A/F? Cheers, Rick
