I put one in my '97, and after proper tuning, gained about 25hp. tuning is key, so the air/fuel is just right, otherwise benefits are not material.

I agined about 25hp at the first tune but then I gain power after every mod I add (I get it re-tuned) and to date that Vec 2 has givin me ALOT of power (and more to come) without a doubt its my favorite mod to date.

its a great way to completly tune your car, timing,spark,a/f ect. Get it you will not regret it because it will keep making power with every mod (if you have a good tuner)

Good luck

The VEC1 did improve performance on my 2001 GTS with K&Ns and Smooth Tubes, the LED display permits "DIY" tuning while driving.

The VEC2 has greater tuning capabilities but does not have an A/F gauge and cannot be tuned while driving. You can have a Tuner dial it in, $300-500$, or purchase a wideband monitor for about $400, and street tune it yourself.

As for the HP difference with your present and future mods...if you consider the total cost the VEC1 is a better value.IMHO If you want an honest answer on actual HP numbers call ROE.

Do you need to have a dyno to tune it?
Also do they dial it in for you based upon you mods (whre you buy it from)?

VEC1 and VEC2 is a Roe Racing product.

A Dyno tune is not necessary. To tune it yourself requires the VEC2 software, which is supplied, and a wideband A/F monitor linked to the VEC2.It helps to have a closed track (LOL) to make test runs similar to Dyno pulls.

Sean Roe is very helpful in dialing it in.
