Test drove first Viper today...

Texas Vipers
Thanks again for the responses. Going to try to get an extra day off so that I can leave tuesday and meet as many of you as possible. I think it will benefit the Viper too, to do some real highway driving. It's my daily driver and I just toodle around town at the city speed limits every day.- forensicsteve

02 Warranty
Before the 3/36 factory warranty on my 02 gts expired in June 05, I purchased the Chrysler factory extended warranty. Not cheap but good until June 2009 or 100,000 whichever is first. Since vehicle has only 20K miles, the expiration date will easily come first.- forensicsteve

2002 GTS FE Coupe Value
I think it may be a steal. Many 2002 GTS have an asking price in the low 60s with a lot more miles than 300. Add the FE factor. THE NEW Z06 IS FASTER THAN THE VIPER
RE: getting noticed Had my GTS about 6 months now. I know there are others in my area but only seen the same black with silver stripes a couple of times and a very nice looking red SRT/10 once in all this time. idol drops to 100 or less rpm when stopping why?
genelumpkins Mine does that too. I just got used to it. It has never died however...just sort of skips a heartbeat (coming to a stop or close to it) and then comes right back to its normal idle level, about 400.- forensicsteve

Thank you Leslie. I live far enough out of a big city that it's easy navigating around in mostly light to moderate traffic. I take it out a bit further than my usual 3 mile radius (from home) on a sunday. 5 weeks ago drove to Houston and back (700 miles or so) and still a joy. Truly a remarkable...- forensicsteve

I am embarrassed to admit that I do not know the type of wheels except that they are 19s all the way round. I bought the car almost 6 months ago as you see it (with some other very minor mods). I knew nothing about a Viper at the time of purchase and the Mercedes dealer, I think, knew less than...- forensicsteve

I use my Viper as a daily ride (actually it's my only vehicle) so it gets dirty every day and is quite a chore to keep clean.
