Great idea. I found the rubber door plug. Is there an "open space" behind the plug under the dash (on the driver's side)? I tried to look and there appeared to be plate with wires mounted in that area (really I am too fat to fit all the way under the dash). Thanks for your help!
One of my winter projects is installing a Bel RX75 Radar Detector/Laser Blocker in my Viper. I'd like to find a way to run wires from the engine compartment into the cabin without cutting new grommet holes if possible. Has anyone installed a remote detector? I assume guys running new wire for...
I had the same thing happen - twice. During hard acceleration, the shifter/trans moves to the right and if you force the shifter to where 3rd is at idle, you can push the shifter between gears. Scared me to death. I talked to Mark J. at Woodhouse and he explained that the motor mounts have...
I've been trying to figure this out as well. I wish someone made a pillar pod for 2 gauges. I think I'm going to end up velcroing 2 small digital gauges (boost and A/f) somewhere on the steering column. See Square air fuel ratio gauge, velcro anywhere, size of a keychain remote. Air fuel...
I have 3M on my hood, sills and nose. Be careful if you put it on areas that have been repainted. I removed the clear coat once when I pulled the material off the repainted side sill.
A local high line dealer has a spotless 911 GT3RS and the ENTIRE care is covered in clear bra. A real work...
I've had the same problem when driving aggressively. Mark Jorgensen from Woodhouse (a great Viper resource) told me it is due to the engine/trans moving at WOT. He suggested I learn to "push and pull" the shifter rather than grabbing and jamming it into gear and/or install new motor mounts to...
Last year I did a test to see if the Roe insulation helped with sill heat and reported the following:
Update: since nobody had a direct comparison between an exhaust with and without Roe insulation, I removed the insulation from one side and left the other side intact. (I know - I'm neurotic)...
Canyon: Be careful installing clearbra on repainted areas. I've had 2 areas where the clear coat pealed off when the installer pulled the extra clearbra off the car. I'll never put it on repainted areas again. Thanks
I just had Woodhouse put Motons on my Viper and I am very happy. The car rides/handles much better and it sits around an inch lower. I initially hesitated because of the cost but Mark Jorgensen at Woodhouse told me they were worth it and he was right. The Woodhouse people do great work and...
Stupid question: When you lose the Viper gears or diff, do they fail/break all at once or is it a "wearing out" over time? In other words, would I notice a problem while driving or would the rear just blow up? Thanks
I was putting my wheels on the car and I noticed 4 of my lug nut covers (the thin metal cover on the lug nut) are loose and easily slide off the lug nut. If one flew off while I was driving, it could do some real damage. Does anyone know how to "fix" this? Do I need to replace the lug nuts or...
Re: New lowered pics on SSR\'s
Thanks. Does the car ride different than stock? I hear the Motons and KWs are much less "bouncy". Have you ever driven the car (after the Aldans) on a road course? Thanks for the response!
Re: New lowered pics on SSR\'s
Car looks great. How are the Aldans holding up? Did you find a setting you liked? Do you mind telling us what the shock and corner balancing cost? I'd like to find a alternative to Motons. Thanks!
I need to install new clear bra on my side sills. In the past, I've always had the entire sill covered which is a big project. If I wanted to cover just the area behind the front wheels that gets damaged/sandblasted, how far back would the material need to go? Where does most of the paint...
I'm sure some will find this childish but I want a viper sounding ringtone (with a Corsa or similar exhaust) for my cell phone. Anyone ever do this? Thanks
I looked at many different colors before I chose mine. It's hard to tell from the photos but it is a light black with silver specks. I think it looks great because it ties in with the silver. It is an old BMW color. Good luck.
I agree the car in the ad looks terrible but I saw a Prefix copperhead in person at Viper Days in Indiana and it looked great. The car had snakeskin stripes, a wing, copper calipers and "tasteful" copper leather work. I thought it looked perfect. You just can't go overboard with the extras...
