I got tired of trying to explain this to friends... so I made a quick animation... It is rather... uh, strange... Thanks Doug (Levin) for pointing it out to me.

The Beast Came Unglued!!! What the heck happened?

Call it a guess, but with 10-13" tires.... I'd call it a hydroplane... At 65mph, 3/16" or less tread could be an issue if there's water buildup on the road. If the rear (unlikely) was hydro, your speedo would jump all over the place (because the rear had no traction). However, this is more...

    Newbie - Buying a Viper

I asked the same question about a year ago... I think the deciding factor is how often you're on the track. If you're SERIOUS about racing, GTS is the way to go. If you want to feel the wind in your hair or the "flash" factor, I think the RT is better. The local club recommended 97 or newer...

    Lambo V10 motor pic

Being the heads on that Lambo are dual overhead cams... I'm thinking they're not much in common... beyond having 10 cyl.

What is up with the ************* board?

It's where all the "other" people go. ...it's a no-rules website. (Well, they do have rules, but the bar is much lower.) Personally, they should have a place to "play", but I'm not sure the common public knows they're "independant", as the name is just toooo close. The domain name was for...

    Posting New Pics

NO HELP... I've e-mailed both support addresses for this board - it's like no one is there... The "claim" is you upload the picture to the website... BUT whenever I try to do that (even though I'm a paid VCA member), the option just isn't there... just like the support staff... I don't know...

    What Do You Think??????

BUY TWO CARS. One as a daily driver ...and the Viper for the occational run, when you can focus on staying away from everyone. Run it fast ONLY on the track. Realize that EVERYONE will want to race you - be a man and don't. You obviouly can make the money, now you have to prove (to yourself...

Car CRASHED by a local dealer's service department!(long)

Re: Car CRASHED by a local dealer\'s service department!(long) GPS!!! I sneek a little handheld GPS in the car where they can't find it. On lithium batteries it's good for about 24 hours. For longer visits, I'll need to tie it into the car's 12v system (just haven't had the need yet). The...

what's the top speed you've hit on the streets ?

Re: what\'s the top speed you\'ve hit on the streets ? Viper - just over 100, there's just too many cars on the road where I live, and SearsPoint 1/4 mile is all I get (for now). Some day I'll go over 170. Honda VFR - 120, but I hear they'll do 160. The 1977 Trans Am (4sp., 350hp, a modified...

This %^^(#@*_ Oil Filter won't come off.. Any know any tricks?

Re: This %^^(#@*_ Oil Filter won\'t come off.. Any know any tricks? OOPS!!! - I had the same problem on my brother's car - TORE THE CAN PART OF THE FILTER OFF, LEAVING THE RING STILL ON THE ENGINE! At that point, I spent half a day welding up a jig (home-made thing-a-ma-jig tool) that fit...

Who's gone fast in their R/T10?

Re: Who\'s gone fast in their R/T10? The Viper: well, it's up there, but undocumented. Other vehicle: 632MPH, east bound, with jet-stream at my back. GPS verified. --I noticed people are listing a bunch on non-viper vehicles, so I thought I'd add a plane, anyone out there a USAF pilot who's...

    Insurance

$5,800 a year (if my son drove it), I'm just $98 a month (what I really pay). I had to ask... and if it was my son's? They said, $5,800... eek! Get this, he can still drive it, if it's MY car and he has another car as prime - for just $98/month! Just don't hit anything! AAA, Northern...

My 2001 RT set me on fire!

This afternoon I knelt down to check the air pressure on the tires. I was suddenly jolted by a sharp pain in my knee. Being near 40, I know my body's going to heck, so I adjust, and my knee is fine... for a few seconds, then this pain came back... My brain's saying "my knee feels hot"! Now...

    Not a Pretty Site!

Rebuildable... yeah right! Notice the jackstands in the back holding it up to look level? That's clearly a total meltdown of everthing on the rear suspension and drivetrain. Gas fires easily consume aluminum parts, it wouldn't suprise me to find the tranny gone too. Personally, the only...
