Just my opinion, I think the wide stripes dipping into the vents adds more character, interest, and uniqueness to the car than just the plain stripes (whether wide on the stock '06 hood or narrow on an '08 hood.
HISS, dropped you a PM...
Great job..
No clue what the post above said, puttin fangs on stuff. ... If you consider this mod, use the correct paint, it's not flat, more of a satin. Seek the correct paint from your trusted dealer, you'll be glad you did....
Thanks guys, but the wheels shown above are not 547Rs. I found a number of pics of 547R on the 'Ultimate Wheel Thread", but can't find anything with a Yellow SRT. Here's what I'm looking for on a Yellow SRT Coupe (with black stripes if possible).
Thanks!
Hiss, it will be interesting to get your read on the various grills. I would be temped to run grill-less, but suspect that without grills your eye would pick up all the detail under the hood and perhaps distract from the overall look. I'm sure that whatever route you choose it wil be sweet!!!
Hiss, that striped hood looks fantastic!!!!! Is the cowl area of the hood taller at the rear than the stock '06 hood? Can't wait to see the finished product...
Hiss, I'm going to do as they suggest, put each wheel in a large plastic bag, use some bubble wrap and cardboard on the face of the wheel, and wrap the whole thing in this:
Pallet Stretch Wrap Wraps Film 18" 80 Gauge 1500ft - (eBay item 130174954404 end time Nov-23-07 15:23:27 PST)...
Yes, I'm sending the complete wheel/tire package to them. When I had my PS2s installed this summer the shop scratched all 4 wheels in 3-4 places each. I was absolutely ready to explode. They did a perfect job on a set of billet wheels cut by Coddington for my Pantera, but scratched the...
The centers on my '06 5-spoke wheels look like the centers on Wallbanger's H-sytle wheels above and are metal (at least a magnet sticks to them). I agree though, don't think it's necesary to chrome them.
Thanks all.
Hiss,
I'm pulling off the wheels/tires and sending evenrthing to California Chrome next week (same 5-spokes you have) . I'll post some pics when complete.
What about the center caps, did you have them chromed as well? With the additional thickness of the chrome buildup on the wheel and the cap, did that cause an issue fitting the cap back on?
Thank you
Deam is right on, at least on my '06 car. My time delay is more like 5 minutes, but it down power down that circuit.
I also have the same mount in my Expedition and can move the V1 from one car to another in 15 seconds, just slide it into the mount and insert the modular plug.
Luke,
What about this? I see them listed...
Pilot® Sport Cup: Ultra-High Performance Sport: Tires: Michelin Tires
Looks like there is no direct replacement for the stock 2006 front size, would a 285-30-18 work (rather than the 275-35-18)?
I'm in for a set.
Hiss,
I'm not feeling the tapered stripes. The wide, bold stripes stripes from your '06 car will look great. Light a fire under your painter... can't wait to see the pics.... LOL
take care
