    Battery

Admittedly, it is hard to predict a given battery brand's longevity...especially since said brand MAY have changed their specs either in a good or bad direction. There are many brands, but only a few manufacturers. Since I draw mostly from my own 29 year Viper experiences, I have learned to...

    Battery

Expect all types of answers...from dirt cheap to expensive...and several other "factors" such as painful to change, battery weight, brand loyalty, "Granny always used this", warranty, and ease of exchange if it suffers premature failure,..to name a few. I prefer (after 29 years of experience of...

Modern Oils and Fuels Webinar Tonight

According to the long Facebook post by Dick Winkles (AFTER he retired), a couple of years ago, Pennzoil was NOT what he would recommend.

Passenger cylinders not firing correctly, right cat glowing after 2 mins

As Dan says, go by the numbers marked on the coil packs...period. Use a mechanic's mirror when making the connections of the plug wires to the couple packs. The diagrams printed in the Viper Service Manuals have been a source of misinterpretation since the very beginning.

    New battery Gen 3

I prefer Interstate MTZ-34 as it is an AGM battery (no leaks) and has a 4 year warranty. This is a good time to check the condition of your cables at the connectors, check the negative cable's connection to the frame, and to be sure that the insulator over the positive terminal is intact and...

    2017 key fob reprogram

As silly as it sounds, and aside from using NEW, lithium batteries in the fobs, BE SURE that the contacts are clean and reassemble the fobs carefully. With 18 fobs covering all generations, I have mis-assembles more that one fob on first try. A locksmith MAY be able to do this. Otherwise, I...

    Help Needed

Sorry about your friend. You might get a more meaningful response here if you list the general area (city) of your friend's location. My first guess would be the obvious...i.e. greater Seattle area. Best of luck !

Pulling your car out of storage? Jump starting? READ THIS FIRST.

Another important point: BEFORE you even open your garage door, BE SURE that your insurance coverage is fully in place !!! This is very important...especially for those who suspend their insurance over the winter months. And, YES...this includes those who plan only a couple of mile drive from...

    Crank, no spark, no fuel

As I recall the wording, if the PCM does not receive the appropriate signals from its sensors ( crankshaft, camshaft, upstream O2, MAP) within one second of the engine cranking, the ASD relay will shut off spark and fuel...hence the question that I asked in post #10 of this thread which was...
