Gen 3 Differential Repair / Replacement Advice — Spider Gear Failure

Unitrax in Ca has done 100’s of Viper rear ends for me. You can ship to them.

CPU Communication with Gen 2 GTS

I’m still around if needed for this, but Dan Lesser does it on a daily basis. I do have a lot of experience with Gen1-3 Performance calibrations.

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Gosh, a lot of hard work and attention to detail. It will be so great when it’s all sorted. Keep at it and continue to do it right 275 mph is a serious goal when you’re in the drivers seat bud. I did 207 in a timed event in Nevada. It was a experience.

    93 rt10 camshaft

I do sometimes, or can refer you to a shop. Sometimes it’s better to pull the motor and send it. That way we can check the bearings, change all the seals, jet wash everything, degree the cam, clean the injectors and sometimes paint the valve covers. It’s a 30 plus year old engine. There are...

    93 rt10 camshaft

I still have cam, injector, tune packages if interested or I can tell you where to get the parts. You will need a tune though, which I think I can only provide.

Looking for info on when Creampuff engines were first built in 1999.

The first batch of 2000’s used a new type of sintered liner, the rings never seated. There was a running change.

New Viper owner, some concerns after fresh maintenance items…

Data is always good, we use a lot on race cars. For a street car, you can read most everything you need in real time with the OBD port. Once the car is sorted and correct, you don’t need all the extra stuff unless you have a modified car. Then you will want to add things, like more more...

    Creaking dashboard

Dodge sold a kit to fix these creaks and cracks back in the day. On your car, remove the dash panel (easy, once the knee blockers and center panel are out). It just pops out. look for rub marks and such. Put some felt on the attachment pins and pop it back in. Some silicone spray on the edges of...

Looking to upgrade gen 1 suspension

I could work with you on a MCS system with proper spring rates and built with enough adjustment to match the spring. The BC system is fine for a budget. I worked with them going in. I do MCS Viper for most of North America and they support the G1 application, I would love to do one for cost and...

Advice on Engine Build Gen 2

Good info but you might be overthinking if it’s your first Gen 2. Just getting the right cam, cylinder pressure, rpm range and type of fuel will determine most of that. Happy to help. I’m old school but did a couple hundred of these. PM me.

    2005 viper with Paxton supercharger

I'm around if you ever need advice on that G3 Paxton. Think we did 30 of them back in the day.

    2005 viper with Paxton supercharger

I tend to agree. With the age of these cars the more original the better. If a modified car is done correctly and properly taken care of, it can be a lot of fun. The downside is the costs. You can spend as much as the car is worth doing a new motor and other work once things add up. I recently...

    2005 viper with Paxton supercharger

I developed that Supercharger system with Paxton on all the 1992-2006 models. When properly installed using correct fuel on a stock engine it was quite reliable. We did sell many supporting modifications, upgrades, calibrations and such, but the system worked well.

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Great progress. I was wondering if the previous heads from Greg Good where serviceable and available. PM me if so. Was the new engine run in before it went in the car? Do you mind saying who is doing the final Motec tuning? What type of fuel did you decide on?

    Importing Canadian car to US

Might consider a Montana LLC. They deal with this stuff all the time. I have several cars and motorcycles, many from other countries and was able to properly license them.

    stand alone ecu

Thanks so much Dan, much appreciated. Most people do not understand that the electronics on these early models simply “time out”. Also It’s good that the Gen 1 folks know they have the same tuning solutions as the later models.

    stand alone ecu

Yes, We have been tuning the SBEC controller for many years and believe we are the only ones who do so. Back in the day we had a package with a tune that made an honest 600hp and passed Ca emissions.

    stand alone ecu

We can still calibrate the Factory 1992-1995 SBEC and 1996 JTEC Gen 1 controller for most any non-boosted applications if helpful. FYI, back in the day we had great luck with Pectel (like Dan mentioned) and the traction control system worked really well.

gen 2 guys, can someone help with some measurements?

We were able to lower the engine and move it back in the day on the Gen 2 cars. Also we found moving some weight around was better than adjusting the springs and loading the the sway bars a bit to improve the corner balance.

gen 2 guys, can someone help with some measurements?

What exactly do you need these measurements for? Maybe I can help.

    Oil Pan Mystery

I've used Kevin's setup at EED and its a great alternative to a dry sump system.

    Oil Pan Mystery

I’ve used these many times. It’s just critical not to run low on oil as you do only have what is in the oil pan and these pumps are typically used with a dry sump system.

    Oil Pan Mystery

I've only been aware of the early and late Gen 2 oil pan. The later started with the ACR and carried on from there. I think there was only one dipstick and tube for each, so most likely your pan pan is not unique, but who knows. One thing you have to be very aware of with that external oil...
