Anyone ever purchased a previously leased viper?

Re: Anyone ever purchased a previously leased viper? Thanks for all who responded :) My next step is to call the bank who leased the car directly to find out the particulars on the lease pay-off. Thanks for the heads up on the possibility of a double tax, that would be a deal killer.

Anyone ever purchased a previously leased viper?

Looked at another viper today. Carfax came back clean. Waiting for dodge and my insurance company to open on Monday to run additional background check. The gentleman purchased this car on a 5 year lease. It's two years into the lease, and he's trying to sell it. I was under the assumption that...

Out with the old and in with the new (Well almost??)

Re: Out with the old and in with the new (Well almost??).... REVISITED :) Heads up...... this car is back on autotrader for 52K. Owner (female) told me it was a clean title, mint condition, yadda yadda but here's the kicker...I couldn't get it inspected by a viper tech because there aren't...

    Second Gear Problem

IRONIC! My stealth went into an Ohio dodge dealer a few weeks ago for a clutch slave cylinder and and came out of the lot with no second gear also! I wish you better luck than I've had getting the issue resolved.

    Jealous Sons a Guns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sean, I live VERY close to you. In fact, I lived in Commerce Twp for 13 years (on lower straights lake), just moved 3 years ago to Milford. I also grew up in "WalledTucky" lol. I don't own a viper YET, but I'm looking REALLY hard. Are any of the Michigan VCA members going to the carshow this...

95 Viper, 2K miles, change plugs?

I'm also interested in this question. As a viper shopper, I'm finding quite a few Gen 1's with less than 6-7K miles. Are there obvious things that would need to be inspected as a result of age (besides head gasket)? Specifically: Would original tires need to be changed immediately? Seal around...

    Mystery VIN #, thoughts?

I assure you, I am not interested in the car. My hopes were that I could find out enough information about the VINs to help another buyer. Maybe the VINs are an honest factory mix-up (doubtful in my mind), but given the fact that the car doesn't have a hard top (3K), I'd need to spend 2K to...

    Mystery VIN #, thoughts?

To answer your questions: Steve: Both VIN's were run through a dodge computer also. The VIN on the frame shows warranty work completed through 99. The VIN on the door shows work through 97. JKracer: I dont' have the engine VIN, but IF I decide to take this to the next level (Tech Inspection)...

    Mystery VIN #, thoughts?

I looked at a 1996 RT/10 last weekend and noted that the car had two VIN #'s. The vin on the windshield frame matched the VIN on the title, however the VIN inside the drivers door was different. The private seller claims to have bought the car from a dealer with 1,000 miles and is the original...

    Drove a viper... Help please!

I really didn't think the water out the tailpipe was an issue (even the stealth does that at times), but these were quite a few "droplets"... enough that I'd call it a small puddle. The pipe was physically dripping water, still no biggie? No evidence of crinkle in frame (although the car wasn't...

    Drove a viper... Help please!

I drove a 96 RT/10 today, and have a few questions about what I observed: 1) VIN on inside of windshield does NOT match VIN on inside of drivers door. The inside drivers door VIN is a manufacture sticker type, the VIN on the windshield is a metal type plate/etching. The Sticker VIN on the door...

Difference between driving Gen I vs. Gen II

LOL George! I was waiting for that comment, you win the "fastest predicted response" award :) Seriously, does a gen 1.5 drive more like a gen 1 or gen 2? I'm guessing gen 2 with the suspension package, but I could be wrong.

Naw...... he's just partial to me because I'm the waitress in the station with the #34 poster, he never gave me a second glance when I worked at hooters  Ok folks.... I believe we all agree "Chuck is the shallowest man alive" so can we get back to a SERIOUS car discussion now? :)...

New to Board, have a few questions

Vprven, I do, in fact, have two psychological profiles completed. 1) Chuck: "He's the shallowest man alive", ;) (Chuck, that will be 60K so I can combine it with my pennies and get a super sweeeeet viper with bells and a whistle!). 2)95Viper: "Perfect Bill of Health" (since you hold Michigan...
