Hold on, you can get cold/flu meds easily? Wow that isn't something I considered in my little civi mind, personally I live on that stuff in the winter. In any event thanks for the post and your sacrifice.
Well, back to the original topic of what else the new car will have. We all know that traction control (TC) and a stability system are in the mix and that cruise control would be likely once the you have TC (600+ Hp plus RWD plus wet roads all divided by cruise control = crash). But what about...
That's funny I'm flying in to San Diego on Wed AM.
Side note, for all the reasons listed above one of the best road trips I even did was to VOI11 last fall in my snake. 14hrs straight in the car and I'd do it again in a heart beat. Think; death bed memories. So enjoy ever hot, cramped...
Lots of good tips here so far but I'll add my 2 cents anyway.
When ever I go on a long trip I through my track bag/tool case in the car. It's amazing how much you can fix with a couple of screw drivers, a pair of vice grips, and a set of wrenches. Other stuff to consider throwing in your...
A bunch of the guys up here have had great success with the VBox units. at ~$500USD they are fairly cost effective while still having excellent functions (accel/decel, lat G's, direction, trace fucntion, and multiply trace overlays).
Currently on the main site we run two 375KW natural gas driven (turbo) units complete with auto switching, auto start, load bank and diesel back ups.
Horsepower? how about ~502HP each.
Your personal instructor.
I started mine the other day for the first time in 2 month – blipped the throttle a scared the living sh*t out of our Nanny :lmao:
Oops, we kind of hijacked the thread, sorry.
Geoff
Congrats! and welcome
There are lots of owners here in Calgary and as Mykes said we need to get you to the track now.
Mykes, did you put your car away for the winter?
Greg,
I still laugh when I watch that. I had a great time helping make it and it's amazing how much of the parking lot we had to bypass just to get it that short.
Personally I didn't see two identical car at VOI. How freaking cool is that?!?
Geoff
NSViper,
What part of NS are you guys from? I'm a Maritimer(my folks just moved back to Nova Scotia from NB) too but now live in Alberta. I was at VOI also, sorry that your paths didn't cross.
Geoff
It's a known issue, the insides wear faster then the outside ones. I flipped mine around before leaving for VOI (the pads are identical from side to side)
hahaha that's my boy!
He's my little buddy and a total car nut. When he was born I'd do the late night feeds and watch Top Gear while burping him - I guess you could say he was a car guy from day one.
The best news is that my Daughter, who is not even 2 yet, can usually be found walking...
Great video man! I had a similar experience this summer taking my son for a drive (he was 2.5years old at the time). He was excited to go that wrestling him in to his car was fun. Once we were all buckled in and out of the driveway he looks over to me and say "Daddy spin the tire?" To which...
Thanks Guys for all your posts and responses! You've sold me on it and yesterday I registered for VOI11 (unfortunately Bill I will not be able to make the event on the 30th). I'm really excited to be going.
Thanks again
Geoff
Hold on! are you guys serious that it's only 8 laps at Miller? and what is this I've heard about only lead/follow for those laps?
I'm with Greg, the prime reason I was thinking of coming down was to run at Miller with other Vipers. Sure car shows are nice as is spending time with other...
Drive what the car gives you and drive accordingly. Different tires will allow you to carry more speed but you only learn how to do that by going to the track and get coaching.
Sean, you are doing it right by taking your new car to track and learning it in a controlled environment. Props...
Rizzo, sorry to say but you were braking and turning (0.42sec) at the same time. Due to weight transfer from braking the back goes light then add in the direction change = the spin. There are contributing factor such as the Runflats and an assumed cold tire temp but the main issue is adding...
