    2000 GTS transmission problem

    My Gts 2000 is becoming hard to shift and it is very hard to put in reverse. On the transmision it is stated to use Dexron II, I changed the oil but it is still hard to shift any recommendation on what to do or oil to use. Thanks

    Brake line lock??

    Every week I go to the dragway and I would like to improve my 0-60 ft. I have drag radials but I can't manage to heat them up enough, If I had a brake line lock kit I'm sure it would help. My question now is, what would you buy for a 2000 GTS. Thanks

    Best clutch for the GTS

    I finally decided to go with the McLeod twin disc(alum) it is more$$ and probably a bit too much for the hp I have, but it should be better in the long run.

    Viper GTS vs Spec twin clutch kit

    I have to change the clutch on my 2000 GTS. I do some drag racing and my car should have around 560rwhp and it has drag radials. Any experience with the Spec twin clutch kit. Based on my set up that clutch was recommended to me by Horsepower Freaks. Thanks for your feed back.

    Was at the track today and I think I found my problem the clutch is done. This explains my poor results. So will change the clutch and should I change the flywheel also??? What clutch is the best??? Thanks

    Best clutch for the GTS

    I have a N/A 2000 GTS with approx 580 rwhp and my clutch is done. I go the drag strip and the car has drag radials. What clutch would you recommend for thsi car. The stock clutch did not last with the current whp. Thanks

    GTS drag racing????

    For sure I won against the ZR1 by at least two car lenghts, I believe that we have a different track, it is an old airport and we are drag racing on ciment, so it could be the reason behind our slow ET to 60 ft, or it's the driver. Anyways I will keep trying until I get better results.

    Agree dragon's time is very good but his 0-60ft is 1.78 and I cannot manage to get lower than 2.05 so far, very bad.

    Track is not very good, but when I try to warm the tires up, it does last too long because I cannot lock the front wheels, so this is probably part of the problem. How do you guys do to warm up the tires without locking the front wheels. If I could do it properly I'm sure I would get better...

    You are probably right the car makes approx 550 rwhp but it has to be confirmed on a dyno. Thanks for the good advice. will test and see. Our track is very slow and the only ones getting good results are the GTR and Porsche Turbo because they are AWD.

    It is the driver for sure, I'm new to drag racing but it is also a new track and people without AWD have traction issue. For example a Mercedes E63 with over 500hp was doing 13.5 at 110mph. What RPM should I be shifting???

    Yes, I have a cam and roller rockers. This car should be between 560-600rwhp. Next time at the track I will try 22 psi and do from there.

    Thanks, they are on the way with 10.7 to 1. and the cam , rockers from Jeff and I will send the PCM to DC for calibration. I have headers and full exhaust with high flow cats but I'm considering running without cats, but I don't know if it will be an improvement...

    Thanks for your comments, the rad has been removed but the condensor cannot be removed easely, I will try to lift the engine as recommended but the only way for me is to put a jack under the engine to lift it. Is the oil pan strong enough to support the weight of the engine? Thanks

    I'm in procees of changing the cam with Striker heads, I did not get the parts yet but I started the project. In order to change the cam with the engine still in the car do I need to remove the A/C condensor or removing the radiator is enough. Thanks

    Thanks for your comments, the only reason to change the pistons is be safe, so if I do not balance the engine (BLUEPRINT) I should keep it as it is??

    Yes it cames wuth duel pumps. I also intend to go with head porting and roller rockers. I tried to reach Greg Good for the last two days and no luck. I noticed that Jeff (Striker heads) is also porting heads, any comments on his porting? Thanks

    I would like to know if a Paxton supercharger (7 lbs) is safe on a 2000 GTS with cast pistons. Some people say that it is OK others are saying that I have to upgrade to forged pistons. What is your experience?
