1/4 mile track was what I was running.

    First time at the track

Also on the one run which I launched around 4000 RPM and got some wheel hop I heard some kind of clunking noise in the rear, which freaked me out. But after letting the car sit I never heard it again, even after more passes and the 45 minute drive home.

    First time at the track

Thanks again Frog!!! That is a great idea, I will see about going to a dyno shop to see what the horse power is. I could not agree more about the seat time. This was only my second time at the track with this car, how ever I had a ton of runs last night (around 20) it was so empty that I had...

    First time at the track

Thank you Frog!!! I was able to read your info in a prior post and it did help me a lot with launching(great info for drag racing a viper) last night, that was the main reason I was kind of confused about my traps. My ET was not changing more then 1 MPH difference no matter what the rest of...

    First time at the track

I decided to post on one of my old threads because I ran into the same issue at the drag strip. Well being that I have owned the car now for a few years and feel much more at ease with the it, I decided to take her back to the track with some friends last night. I ended up launching much harder...

    Painted My Hood Pad

Thanks :) Yeah it does take a good bit of time to prep, but not to bad. Took me a few hours in total to finish.

    Painted My Hood Pad

I finally decided to paint my hood pad, which had been pretty worn down and had some water spots. I used a flat black to paint the hood pad and a gloss black and red to paint the sneaky pete logo, the red was called clean red. I did attempt to use a high heat clear coat to ensure some added...

Epic Suckage! another 998 gusset recall done wrong :-(

I have not had mine fixed yet, but I am able to remove the filter from the top passenger side of the car with little effort. Just make sure to drain the filter while under the car to prevent spilling it on the way up.

Need Some Help (possible heat problem)

Another update. I drove the car a good bit today after replacing the relays to see if the fans (now working correctly) had fixed my issue. Well it seems there is still a problem with my car running hot, what is different now with the fans working is the temp gauge will still get close to the 220...

Need Some Help (possible heat problem)

I was going back over some things today and remembered that when I was testing the fans that I never shut off the AC. So when doing so the fans did not kick on unless the AC or defrosters was on. I went to the auto parts store and picked up 3 new relays (even though the ones that were in the car...

Need Some Help (possible heat problem)

I agree with doing the flush, it was on my to do list this year. But I did not want to spend the money on that if there is something else wrong or broke. The two things I was leaning towards was either the gauge was slightly off, because when the car is shut off it never drops down to the 100...

Need Some Help (possible heat problem)

Yes, when I hit the highway my gauge lowers to the 3rd line at 190 which used to be my normal high. Yes, when I turn the AC on the fans kick on.

Not sure what you mean ? but yes the fans are working.

Need Some Help (possible heat problem)

I do not have a service manual. The gauge has never went that high before, in the past it never went any higher then this picture a side from when the sensor went bad and had it at the 250 mark. But from the reading on the OBD II it showed an average reading of 208 or lower until I tried...

So my engine temps are to high?

Need Some Help (possible heat problem)

For the most part the car ran at around 208 to 210 (A/C on city driving), I had to really heat soak the car to reach 214 then it would start to lower back down. This was done with hard driving to reach max temp then sitting at idol with AC on and giving some gas, so not a lot of air flow. It was...

Need Some Help (possible heat problem)

I was able to read my engine temps with a OBD II yesterday and the highest it showed was 214 while the gauge was reading much higher. It was a little higher then the picture. So does this mean that the gauge is bad ? or is the car running to hot ? Thanks Jeff

Need Some Help (possible heat problem)

I had some pretty bad storms today, so I will try to take my car to advance auto tomorrow and have them use there OBDII to see what temp are being read. I am hoping it is just the gauge going bad and not the pump or something worse. Thanks Jeff

Need Some Help (possible heat problem)

I just read through the 2 linked posted, thank you for sharing. But my issue is different then both of those situations. My car does not have any coolant leaks from the overflow, I have been checking every day since I noticed the possible issue. Also the level has not dropped since I added to...

Need Some Help (possible heat problem)

Thanks everyone for all of the help :) Hopefully this will point me in the right direction to what is going on with my car. I am just hoping that I can figure out what the source is without replacing many parts on the car. Thanks Jeff
