Need to vent! Suspension and shop frustrations!

This is all good feedback and gives me some insight into why the shop may make the decisions they do. I will say though, with us heading into the economic times ahead of us, I find it hard to believe that people will be purchasing 5-figure suspension setups for their street cars. But, I digress...

Need to vent! Suspension and shop frustrations!

That was exactly my discovery. There is no middle-ground as far as new coilover options. It's either premium price for overkill performance, premium price for stock components, or good price for what I need. My search yeilded something in the neighborhood of 5K for MCS bottom-tier options...

Need to vent! Suspension and shop frustrations!

When I bought my '05 Vert, I did some searching for a legitimate performance suspension shop to look it over and check the alignment. The goal was to make sure everything was in working order. I ended up finding a great shop with experience and they notified me that two struts (PS Front, DS...

Front Belly Pan Install hardware help

As an update: I have finished ordering everything. It took some digging to find as close to the stock specs that @Steve M so graciously provided. I ordered everything in black, non-corrosive coatings. Here are the parts, where I ordered, and pricing. Screws and Washers from McMaster-Carr...

Front Belly Pan Install hardware help

I will be sure to update what I find out as I go. Under closer inspection, I found that someone else in this car's history had the same issue and replaced some of the hardware with what looks like nickel-coated external hexagon screws! I would KILL to know what this car has seen in it's life. I...

Front Belly Pan Install hardware help

I cannot thank you enough for this! Hopefully this helps not only me but others in the future as well. I am very excited to take care of this on the car as the underside of the front bumper has been hanging low for who knows how long!

Front Belly Pan Install hardware help

Well, at least I don’t feel crazy now. I haven’t had a chance to check under the car yet, but I am very concerned about the speed nut/clips not being present. If you learn anymore info about these little things or where to source them, I would GREATLY appreciate any sharing. I suspect I will...

Front Belly Pan Install hardware help

This was very helpful. Yea, I saw those prices on the mopar site but there are no quantities, dimensions, or supporting hardware mentioned on ANYTHING. I had no idea what I’d be getting if I actually put the screws in the cart. It’s like complete guesswork trying to figure this out.

Front Belly Pan Install hardware help

So, I purchased my 2005 SRT-10 with the front belly pan and install hardware completely absent :dunno: I have located the belly pan with this part #: 05290136AE However, I don't know which screws, bolts, clamps, or whatever else is needed to actually attach it to the car. Does anyone know where...

    Dangerous Gen III Suspension?

Thanks for the feedback. Is the general consensus that the few failures were likely factory defects in the casting? The descriptions of said failures were certainly concerning — not regarding those that were likely caused by accidents/impacts before failure.

    Dangerous Gen III Suspension?

Are you selling? Did you ever have any issues with the problem described?

    Dangerous Gen III Suspension?

Thank you for the very thorough reply. My motivation for the part came from some digging though NHTSA and other reports and the fact that the vehicle’s history is largely unknown although the title is clean. It makes sense to me knowing that aluminum does fatigue and I’ve read the part is cast...

    Dangerous Gen III Suspension?

So, my ‘05 is new to me but is in need of some suspension work. Of particular concern is adding the knuckle support for the toe links, and new toe end links to avoid a catastrophic failure that I’ve become aware of recently. I found this kit but it seems very pricey...

    Suspension bushings

I’m glad I found this thread! I’m going to have to do the same thing soon. T doesn’t seem like there are many guys in my area that could help. I don’t have the space or the tools to do it myself.

    Finally buying my dream car!!

Thank you! Right now I’m just doing a general tuneup and some odds and ends. Will need suspension bushings and some cosmetic stuff. The shifter feels pretty terrible so I am actually here searching for some options! Eventually it will be a heads/cam car!

    New Owner ‘05 Tune up

Thank you! I may attempt to do this on my own, so I want to make sure I don’t miss anything. I’ve seen that the coil packs are tough to get to but some say it’s possible without removing the intake. If I can do it with the intake on, I’ll do it myself. Otherwise, I’ll probably pay someone...

    New Owner ‘05 Tune up

Hello All, I did some searching but could not find any current advice on an ignition setup for the Viper. I just purchased my 2005 and it has 40K miles on what looks like the factory setup. I’m not sure if it’s misfiring and there are no dash lights but it idles almost like a cammed car and I...

    Finally buying my dream car!!

Hello, All! I’m excited to say I am making the move on a Viper after being in the market for 6 months! In one of the photos, there is some sort of serial number written in white near the firewall on the passenger side. Is this normal on these cars? Meet Vernice

    Viper Tech, happy to help

Dan, I am preparing for a Gen 3 purchase and am trying to figure out who to have perform the PPI. It’s especially challenging because I’m searching nationally. With your experience, could you advise me in particular things to have the inspector look for?
