    Low fuel pressure on start

No no, not an inline regulator. That would be a bad idea. Just a simple one-way check valve to help keep the line pressurised (or at least keep fuel in the line) once the ignition is turned off. In the youtube video you posted above, the guy does the same, but puts his check valve above the gas...

    Low fuel pressure on start

I have a gen 1 that also has a long crank. I know my fuel tank has been out before, but I'm not exactly sure why. I never liked the idea of dragging out the tank to replace the regulator, only to have the problem come back. Interesting note about particles in the check valve. I'm curious if...

    Gen 1 Audio Upgrade Thread.

@wagonman23 I'm glad it helped. Yes the same seller I.got my adapter sells on https://www.oldschoolalpinerepair.com now. Thanks for sharing your repair experience. I was.debating contacting him to see if he could repair my cassette player. Though if it's just a worn rubber belt.... That's a...

    Power Steering Cap Fix

Ya'll might be overthinking this a bit. The minimum viable solution is the 3rd picture here: https://motoiq.com/project-viper-gts-part-2-general-maintenance/2/ Just attach a hose so that if you are going to spray fluid out the air vent, it goes down instead of up. This shouldn't happen under...

    1993 Viper wire in trunk

I have a 93 antenna car as well. It definitely looks aftermarket. There's no hole in the trunk wall like that in the oem setup. All the wires come from a tightly packed bundle through a gromet on the passanger side. Is your antenna original?

    Gen 1 oil catch can

I had found this video of someone taking one apart. The most notable section is around the 3 minute mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKlJ8dijgYI&t=180s

    Gen 1 oil catch can

I installed an oil catch can. There were a pair of extra M4 studs near the PCM. I think they are there to mount an A/C accumulator, but my 93 doesn't have it. I went with a Morosso 85481. For some reason this one was half off on Amazon. But it's the same can, with 3/8 fittings and plenty of...

Tail light issue - Failed inspection - Advice??

Oh weird. Good on you for finding that electrical gremlin. The 92-96 headlight switch is a comman and inexpensive part. It's not hard to get at either. 5 screws to remove the knee bolster. As for the pull rod, you just reach your hand above the headlight switch and there's a button you hold...

Tail light issue - Failed inspection - Advice??

Re 2: My 93 seat belts don't do this either. I'm 99.99% sure they are not defective and just came from the factory like this. Side note: The passanger side has an additional/alternative non-retracting adjustable lap belt. I believe this was intended for car seat use at the time. I can't say...

    Gen 1 control arm bushing

I've looked this up before and below is what I noted for part numbers. Note that I've never used any of these parts myself so the information I found could be wrong. Moog claims the front and rear uppers are the same. I couldn't find any information at all about the rear lowers. Front Upper...

Viper Mod Quiz - New Owner Help??

The port on the coolant hose is almost certainly to bleed out the air when changing coolant. Thats the highest point on the coolant circuit. I've been meaning to do the same to my 93. Basically, turn the heat on in the cabin so the heater core becomes part of the cooling circuit, then use that...

    Negative battery cable disconnect

Also, there are ways to get usb and bluetooth on old stock head units with cd changer controls. If you're interested in that alternative, I could tell you about it. I have a black box with a usb and sd card slot in my glove box. It works on the tape deck in my 93. It uses the rca audio inputs...

    Negative battery cable disconnect

The obd2 system on your 2001 might be quicker to learn. I've had a few obd1 cars that would take a few trips to readjust the air fuel ratios. The worst thing that ever happened was my 93 ford probe stalled when rolling to a stop. Not a big deal. That being said, If you're just installing a...

    Roe Racing VEC3 software

Perhaps not the answer you're looking for, but have you tried any CD recovery software? At the moment I can't recall what I used in the past, but software exists that will hammer the cd with read retries one block (track?) at a time until it gets a clean read. It takes forever, but it does work...

    Cigar Lighter Outlet

I recently replaced mine as well. For what it's worth, the cigar lighter fuse can blow when disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. Also, power to the cigar lighter is always available, even without the key in or turned to accessory. So just don't leave something plugged in that has a...

    Gen 1 Differential Fluid Change

I don't think Gen 2 has drain plugs from factory. That's what some threads seemed to indicate when I was searching for the thread size. It's weird, but I guess that's just what they did. For Gen 1, there's even part numbers. 4626712 = "Plug, Pipe". 4626713 = "Washer, Plug Seal".

    Gen 1 Differential Fluid Change

Update: It is a 3/4-16 UNF plug, otherwise known as an 8AN ORB (o-ring boss) plug. I ordered an aluminum one and torqued it to 15ft/lbs. A 1 inch socket is required. Does anyone know what type of pipe plug this is? Mine is missing the o-ring and I deformed it a bit when removing it. The...

    Gen 1 Differential Fluid Change

Does anyone know the drain plug socket size? A 1 inch box-end wrench feels a tad loose. I suspect it might be 25mm (1 inch = 25.4mm). Also, I second checking the fill plug first! I had to use a 3/8" hex socket on a breaker bar. Don't attempt to use any other socket that has even a little bit...

    QuickJack 7000TL

For those wondering, the quickjack 7000TL works on a Gen 1 Viper. Notes: * Mine is stock ride height. * I did not have to drive onto boards. * Given the short distance between the front wheel and the front lift point, you need to place the quickjacks backwards so as you lift the car moves...

Amsoil 75w90 good for late model Gen2 transmissions?

I feel like I read every post today trying to decide on fluid for my 1993 t56. The service manual calls for dexron IIe. My understanding is that a non-synthetic dexron III is required because of the paper-lined blocker rings in early t56 units. So in the case of a T56, dexron VI isn't backwards...

How to replace the Gen 1 Clutch Pedal Bushings

    8) Replace the two Pedal shaft bushings. Grease them up. 9) If you're using a replacement birdcage bushing, grease it up. Don't put it on the pedal arm!! The birdcage clip must first be inserted into the hole in the clutch rod BEFORE being attached to the pedal arm. If you try to put the...
