15W-50 M1 oil useless for Viper

I use Mobil 1 SAE 15W-50 from April thru November. Your usage and climate are very similar to mine so I would recommend the 15-50. Interesting that we've never discussed this topic.

would it also depend on the mileage that is on the car? Higher mileage engines could benefit from a thicker oil. But wouldn't cars with a few thousand miles be better off with the 10 w 30?
