18 " Khumos?????

18 \" Khumos?????

Are they coming out soon or should I not hold my breath I know I'm better off with the 17 inch setup unless they make a 345 tire. Anyone know what is going on with these tires? Are they being made, and what sizes??? Thanx

I have the drag radials ordered already, but I wont be using those for roll on races to 180mph++++ They hook better but I dont feel safe going that fast on them

Gerald, I was thinking about that but then I will have 3 sets of rims, cause I got some ccws for the drag radials I'm hoping they make the Khumos soon in a 345 tire

These are more sticky than any Kumho, they are far from regular pilot sports.

Ok then get some Toyo's they make a 335/30/18 40 treadwear.

But I still feel the 345's with the extra 1/2 inch of rubber on the ground would be the best choice.

The Pilot Sport Cups are not the same as the regular street tires. I've never used them, but I would imagine they are about like the Kuhmos.

Kumho's for drag racing - I have been using the 3.35 Ecsta's for autocrossing. They are great for that purpose, however, I decided to try them at the strip. This strip is notoriously slippery and they do not use any VHT. I have a set of ET's and have had a set of Nitto's so I have a good history for comparison.

My results were not good. I did not try any NA runs, however, with the N2O on I spun the tires in all four gears. This was spin not chirp. I was running them at 23 lbs and I did a mild warm-up in/out of the water box. This was mostly to get rid of the stones that they pick up. They are a different kind of soft, they pick up everything. maybe someone has some input or a better experience.

Jack I think going tru the waterbox and doing a burnout with the Khumos was a mistake. I think you only got them oily as they are more a street tire than a slick. I drove Gerald's DLM Viper with them on and they hooked like a champ in 2nd gear I only want to run them for everyday and will not be drag racing with them, I got the drag radials for that

I think Kumhos work great as a Street/Strip tire. You must stay out of the water box with them and keep them at around 30 lbs. Do a very quick burn out just to clean the tires. They will not stand dumping the clutch but leaving at about 1500 rpm and rolling it out with 3.54 gears and a hundred and fifty shot of nitrous from 1st gear to 5th gear have produced 10.69@132mph in the qtr for me. "1.69 60 ft" Mine now have about 5000 miles on them and the tread is still at 50 to 60% of the original depth.

So basically, the Pilot Sport Cups have better traction then drag radials whether racing or cornering? I know what tire gets my vote then, rather spend $400 per tire for Super Cups then have two differnt setups for the street and drags when I guess it appears that the Pilot's have drag radial traction and cornering ability of an awsome street/race tire.

Kumho is a great tire talked to some friends that auto cross with them, but the lack of an 18" viper size makes them pointless.

For those guys that run 17's its probably the best tire you can buy.

Saleen the Pilot cups have a rating of 9.6 for dry traction while the drag radials have a rating of 9.7 which is pretty dang close. It looks like I might cancell my drag radials and just run these suckers on the street and strip

Lee ever run the khumos with less air on the strip?? I'm thinking you can deft squeeze a low 1.6s with less air
