One option that worked for me was ordering Gen 2 links, cleaning my Gen 1 links up, regreasing the ball joints and swapping over the boots from the Gen 2 links. My links were good, just the boots had degraded over time. I too waited to hear on availability from multiple parts outlets about Moog or other brands doing a run of links. If its just your boots, this may be an option for you.
